Keeps Hair Dry with Modifications
I have medium length wavy hair and swim daily. I have tried many swim caps to keep my hair dry!! While no swim cap is capable of keeping hair 100% dry, here is the routine and products that I have found to keep my hair 85% dry. The 2nd photo is of my hair is right after swimming breastroke and freestyle laps doing flip turns, swimming underwater to 12 feet deep, and floating on my back. Only the back and edges above my ears are slightly damp. TYR Long Hair Swim Cap Sync Hair Guard & Ear Guard Headband Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 Swim Goggles Cut strip of an exercise resistance band I put my hair up in a high bun that sits right behind my forehead. Then I flip my head upside down and put the TYR cap on with the letters in the front. I ensure that the cap is fully over my ears and hair. Next, I put the Sync hair guard over the TYR cap with the words right side up in the front. I make sure it overlaps the swim cap by about a cm on all sides. Finally, I tie the resistance band strip like a headband over both, making sure it is tied under my ears. The goggles go over everything. Since this pair is small they seal even though the cap is close to my eyes. After swimming I rub a half teaspoon of ascorbic acid powder between my hands and over the wet parts of my hair to neutralize the chlorine instead of getting my hair more wet by rising. This is the active ingredient in expensive swim products, but much cheaper to buy on it's own. I then apply leave in conditioner to the damp areas.

Works well as an addition to a swim cap!
I purchased this headband as a “addition” to my swim cap. I am not really a true lap swimmer, but I wanted to start somewhere and the one thing holding me back was my hair. I have thick long hair and once it is wet, it takes forever to dry so I decided to purchase this item along with an extra large swim cap that was made for long, thick hair. The headband works well with the swim cap but there are a few things to remember to do in order to get the least amount of leakage: 1. Make sure you follow the directions on the package. 2. It is fine to put your hair in a ponytail on top of your head to get stray hairs out of the way. 3. I found it helpful to invert my head upside down and then pull the band over my head and ears. It took some time for me to get the routine down but it keeps the top of my head pretty dry. The nape of my neck gets a little wet as the band will “creep” up, but I don’t have sopping wet hair. I can deal with a little dampness. Like most reviews of other products of this kind, there isn’t a perfect seal or waterproof product that will keep your head 100% dry. Again I am not the serious lap swimmer where I am doing flip turns and racing in the water. I leisurely do a few laps, switch to a different stroke, and then come back to lap swimming. I do not know how this band would react when doing lengthy laps, backstrokes, or flip turns. One other thing I should mention is that it is pretty tight around your head and ears so if you are uncomfortable to tightness around your face and head you may not care for this item.

Keeps the water out of my ears
I put it on first, then my Speedo swim cap, then my goggles. Worked great with no need for ear plugs. However, when I put goggles on first, then the band and swim cap, my goggles leaked. If you have an ear disease, you would still need to put something in your ears. Sometimes when I swim, a drop or 2 of water get in, and sometimes my ears are totally dry. You have to fiddle a bit at first to get the best fit. Too low and it puts too much pressure on my head. Too high and it doesn't cover my ears. Just right is easy once you know how.

Tears easily
Tears easily and not made well. I would not recommend this product.

Tears easily
It works OK but tears after about 8 or 9 months. I lap swim about 2-3 times per week. This is my 4th one but I can't find any others that are thin enough to go under my swim cap.

Best option for daughter’s kinky curly hair
My daughter has kinky curly (4c) hair, and loves to swim. We have only used this once, but for a full day at a water park including time in the wave pool. I combined with a long hair swim cap, with the headband on first and the cap over the top. The very edges of her hair were damp, but all of her twists were dry. It will stay in place better if you do cover ears, but she doesn’t like her ears covered so we have to readjust periodically as it and the cap slide up her forehead a bit. Overall, the best combination I’ve found so far to avoid drying out my daughter’s hair with the chlorine.

Too tight and made my head hurt. A couple minutes later I'm still feeling pain.
I wore swim caps regularly when I swam, so I expected tightness. Now that I'm getting back into it, I thought I'd get something to protect my hair more but this hurt so bad. I gave it an extra star for covering slightly more than a swim cap, but the pain was not worth it for me. My TYR swim cap does not hurt and is at most slightly uncomfortable. I like the idea of this product but not the execution.

Ear saver. Fabulous!
Swim 140 laps a couple times a week so am in pool a lot and for long periods. Prior to the headband water caused inner ear problems despite Mack silicone ear plugs. The headband fits snuggly over my ears and holds swim cap in place so the ear plugs are more effective. This headband is absolutely wonderful. It’s shortened pool time as I need less adjustments.

This helps keep your hair off your face but it does slip up after a bit but they all do . I wear it under my swim cap . I’m happy with my purchase but it was very overpriced

Not worth spending any money on. It's expensive and doesn't stop your hair from getting wet as it promises to do.
