Is it waterproof? probably not. I've never tried to submerge it in water but will say that the film around the screen does begin to lift and you can see small debris under the film, so I wouldn't bet on it. But that's not the reason I bought the case anyway. I have dropped my phone probably more than a dozen times, even on concrete and my phone is still in perfect condition. I also like that I don't have to spend extra money on a screen protector since this one has one built in. The fingerprint reader is kind of a pain in the a**, but to me, it's worth the headache if it protects my $1,000 phone. It's a little heavy and bulky, but that is to be expected with the level of protection it provides. I also love that the back is clear. I get a little bored with my phone case, so I print different images that I like and cut them to fit, so I can change the look as often as my heart desires. If your main concern is protection, then I definitely think it's worth the minor inconveniences.
