What am I missing?** A: If you read the documentation and view the pictures you will see that the "wood" is a actually a fuel stick like the other items for use with the stove. Reason I would suppose is that if you were to use natural wood that you could not put enough in it to cook with as it would not last nearly as long, or give you enough heat to even boil water.
