I noticed that the Monarch wasn't as plentiful as in years past. I have this plant and it is vivid and beloved by the butterflies but when I heard the U.S. government state that both the Monarch and (as I had already been aware of) the bees are in trouble.Most don't know that the large corporate farms truck bees to their farms for pollination. These trucks full of bee hives have been losing as much as 27% of their bees a year. There is a big controversy as to why but our government has a list of reasons, naturally they left out the biggest killer of butterflies and bees, vehicles. Yes, every time you swipe the guts of a bug from your windshield millions and millions of vehicles are doing the same. Who ever comes up with an answer to this problem will be the next Bill Gates.Please plant these flowers to feed Monarch Butterflies and the bees, they need us as much as we need them.

I grew mine indoors and my transplanted plants are now two years old out in the yard. Very healthy, and also self-seeding.

Great germination rate and the seedlings have done better than several other flowers I have tried to grow from seed. Started them in wet paper towel, most germinated and out of 24 I think only 2 seedlings died and the rest are currently over 3in and full of leaves. I will transplant them soon and maybe follow up later when they are fully grown. Cant wait to see them flower but that might be a year or two.

I love the foil packaging and the clear, educational directions that accompanied them. I bought several kinds of seed at the same time, and I enjoyed learning about the variations in germination. I followed the directions, and though planted them at the wrong time of the year, I have tiny green leaves now and hopes for a bee/ butterfly garden.

their OK. have not flowered yet, but bout half the seeds sprouted. Just don't follow the instructions on the package. I did and none of those seeds came up.I ended up putting seeds on paper towel, in a shallow dish, added some water and covering with a ziplock bag. in a sunny spot, doing this i have half of the seeds have spouted.

I followed the directions exactly, but almost two months later I have a about 10 seedlings only 2" tall. The growing condition seem to be perfect but they don't seem to be thriving. I'm very doubtful that I will wind up with any robust plants.

Powder instead of seed

Started in my AeroGarden and they are doing great!!!! Beautiful plants within a few weeks...very impressed.
