Extremely salty
It’s very good but my goodness is it salty. Just a little warning for anyone that happens to be interesting in purchasing this specific flavor. I was only able to eat a couple at a time due to how salty it was

Great Tasting Virginia Peanuts!
I used to dislike peanuts, but I recently discovered that I only dislike certain brands of peanuts. These peanuts really are large Virginia peanuts, and they always arrive fresh and crisp. The salt and pepper variety is delicious! They are not too salty nor too peppery--but just right. They are not oily at all. These are so good, I've added them to my Subscribe and Save items and have two cans delivered each month. Yum!

If you miss Trader Joe's Peppered Peanuts, don't bother with these
I read the reviews before purchasing these peanuts (overpriced for what they are) hoping for the flavor of the wonderful peppered peanuts Trader Joe's carried years ago. I knew it was a risk, but when I tasted them, not only was there barely a hint of salt, there was no pepper flavor whatsoever. Son-in-law and I both give these nuts a big thumbs down as far as being peppered peanuts. Good enough as just regular barely salted nuts without a hint of pepper, but nothing more. Quality control appears to be a big issue as some batches are reported to be too salty, some are just right according to other reviewers, and too bland/peanut only flavor to others (including me). Almost no seasoning leavings in the bottom of the can and not a sign of black pepper. I won't buy these again and will opt instead to roast and pepper my own or look for a different vendor.

Great peanuts
Super taste. Seasoned perfectly.

Very very salty
These are salt bombs. They don't even taste good, they are so salty. Look at the picture of the label and see the sodium content, about five times as much as your average salted peanut. I ended up mixing them with about four times as many unsalted peanuts to make them palatable.

Excellent Taste; A Little Too Crunchy For My Tastes
My wife likes peanuts. Me … not something I think about. So, I was surprised when she began ordering little cans of, I guess Planters peanuts, the Spanish kind with the little red skins everywhere, how much I liked them. They are a little salty and slightly sweet. So, when she wanted to get some Virginia Peanuts, I thought, ‘’Why not?”. But, I like salt and pepper, so I bought these. One thing I’ll give them is that they taste great, once you crunch them up. The salt and pepper ratio is just right for me. And, they are nice and big without any of those annoying little red skins to flake off an get everywhere. These are excellent Virginia Peanuts, if Virginia Peanuts are your things … I have some friends who won’t eat anything EXCEPT Virginia Peanuts, mind you. Now, however, maybe it is because these are the first Virginia Peanuts I’ve had, or maybe it’s because these aren’t quite cooked enough. But, I find them a bit too crunchy. They do NOT taste undercooked, but they are just extremely crunchy. And, whether it is a feature of Virginia Peanuts (versus Spanish Peanuts) that these peanuts aren’t as ‘sweet’ as Spanish Peanuts, or whether they don’t taste as sweet as Spanish Peanuts because this batch wasn’t cooked as long, I don’t know. Still, I liked them, and I may buy them again, but first I may buy some other brands of Virginia Peanuts to see if they are different.

Revised review
I had done a review and commented how there was no black pepper. I shook the peanuts upside down and there was plenty of black pepper.

something’s changed recently
I’ve had these on subscribe n save for quite a long time. I love peanuts, and most often, the quality of these was the best i’ve had. Recently though, the peanuts have been less crunchy and closer in flavor to the typical grocery Planter’s nuts. It’s like they are simply a “lower” grade of peanut recently. Recently I had Whitley’s peanuts at a brewery. They were much closer to what i’d come to expect from these. I think I will take one more order to know for sure. If they don’t rebound, I will cancel my SnS.
