I bought this for my 9 year old grandson as a Christmas gift. After opening presents, he disappeared into the dining room for the next few hours. Pieces were scattered all over the table, and he was working hard on assembly. At times, it got difficult for a nine year old, but his dad stepped in to help and they got it done and set it up to work on Dad's cellphone. Good challenging toy.

Great value for money. Lots of pieces, all compatible with the most expansive brand. In the box one printed building plan is included. The other building plans can be viewed via the app. The app works pretty well, I must say. For young kids I do recommend assistance form an adult that also has some experience in building. My boy (8) built the car almost completely by himself, and I enjoyed the quality time. After building we spent some time demonstrating the capabilities of the app to grandma. The capabilities within the app do exceed my sons abilities, but he enjoyed very much my magic tricks. (The batteries still hold) The cars can be controlled either with a simple remote controle function in the app or by running a self coded program. Since I’m a software developer myself, I had no trouble coding with it. And there are lots of options that we didn’t even try yet. It’s not the fastest RC car of course, but that’s ok. The back motor does most of the work. The left wheel and right wheel work independently. The little LEDs can be remote controled (and programmed) as well. A secondary motor adds a little extra movements, depending on the building plan. My kid learned a lot form it and is planning to build the dino as well. I can highly recommend this Robot X. We spent multiple hours on learning and enjoying the building process and demonstrating things to grandma. 👍

Got this for my son to participate in an online robotic club (age 10). All pieces, booklet and instructions are included to complete all builds. It pairs easily to the app to code each build. The pieces have held up well over time through each assembly. I wish it came with a bag for storage of the pieces because once you open the plastic bags, all the pieces are being stored in the box which makes them easy to lose.

Grandson needed this for his robotics club

There's so much functionality in this robot and it comes with over 600 pcs parts which can be built over 20 preset forms, such as the robot on the cover, motorcycle, dinosaur, crane , etc., or even create whatever you can imagine. The components are very much alike Lego parts , with 600 pcs at the first glance in four plastic bags, it is both impressive and intimidating, thus the first thing i do is to categorize them in colors and download the APP for the user guidance. I have to say the APP helped me walk through each steps easily by illustrating the details. I spent around 5 hours to build the robot. After the final step, the app then guides me through the bluetooth connections steps and then the operational steps. I do not know coding but in the APP it looks like it is as simple as stacking these bricks. I really like the concept , since it is a combination of Lego bricks w/ more versatile abilities. The kit has tons of possibilities and It is a good gift option for techie kids or Lego fans.

Paid a lot for this to be missing components.

Wir kommen mit dem Apitor X Roboter-Set insgesamt sehr gut zurecht. Der Aufbau klappt problemlos, vor allem dank der digitalen Bauanleitungen: Die Schritte sind klar und gut nachvollziehbar, sodass auch Kinder gut mitkommen. Die Klemmkraft der Steine ist in Ordnung – hält zuverlässig, ohne frustig zu sein. Die Modelle passen vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her zum angegebenen Alter, auch wenn teils viele Kleinteile verbaut werden. Das ist nicht unbedingt ein Problem, man kann einzelne Kleinteile bei Bedarf gut weglassen, ohne dass das Modell direkt “kaputt” wirkt. Die Steuerung über das Tablet funktioniert zuverlässig und macht Spaß. Bei der Programmierung wäre allerdings noch etwas mehr Eleganz wünschenswert – hier ist LEGO (gerade bei der Nutzerführung) aus meiner Sicht etwas besser aufgestellt. Unterm Strich stimmt aber das Gesamtpaket: Preis/Leistung ist top, besonders wenn man ein Robotik-Set sucht, das schnell Erfolgserlebnisse liefert und trotzdem Spielraum zum Tüfteln lässt.
