I recently purchased a large 54" cut, TORO brand, "ride on", "zero-turn" lawn mower. The large vinyl seat has shock absorbers and is very cushy and comfortable. However, directly behind the seat, is a huge 26 horse power air cooled engine that puts off a ton of heat, which radiates right back into the seat! I remembered the sorts of cushions that my Dad used to use in the summer, in our non-airconditioned cars back in the 60's. As others have noted, these polymer constructed cushions aren't quite as good as the older metal coil spring constructed models. My mower seat has none of the usual automotive connection points for the cushion, so I simply used some various length, cheap fabric type bungie cords to connect the cushion to the mower seat. (This attachment means could work for cars as well.) Having mowed in this (2025) summer's 90 degree heat several times now, WOW what a difference this cushion makes! My butt and back of my shirt are no longer drenched with sweat. The manufacture should promote these for mower and tractor seats in addition to automotive applications.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: wanted something similar to the old style king coil cushions that noboby makes anymore. Cooling effect: awesome Thickness: appx 3/8" (10 mm) I installed this in a Isuzu box truck i use to deliver bread. They have large a windshield that acts like a greenhouse so when you get in the truck to travel to next stop its HOT. You can instantly feel the air moving between you and the seat. These trucks have highback seats that the headrest is not seperate so i just used a short bungee cord to loop behind the seat hooked into the headrest loops on the cushion. Its function over fashion but this is a work truck . the midback strap slid over seat just fine , it has 2 discs that hold the bottom they worked fine, the other retainer strap hooks under the seat..

Seems to let a bit of air through. It would be nice if it was a bit (50%?) thicker to vent better. The straps or hooks do not attach to the headrest. I needed to loop chord around the headrest supports to hook at all. The strap that goes under the seat should be longer and adjustable. I also had to use cord to secure the bottom hook. However unit seems well made amd I want to see how it holds up over the next few months.

Truly impressed by this product, I used it on my leather seats in my convertible Mustang and it definitely cooled my seat a lot. I used to drive with dress shirts on and top down and would sweat in 95-100 degree heat. Today I tried it on my 30 min drive in that heat with the top down And did not break one sweat! I could feel the cooling happening at times it is crazy to explain. But yes I will stand by this product now and hope it lasts a for a while. Very satisfied!

I had such high hopes for this product. It does keep you cooler and allows air to circulate. It states it can either go in a vehicle or on a wheelchair or a desk chair. It is better suited to a wheelchair or desk chair as it doesn’t really have strapping that’s appropriate for a good fit in a vehicle. If the manufacturer had a better fit for a vehicle, I would give it 5 stars. It’s very comfortable sit on and it’s lightweight.

I'm from Wisconsin... sweating was not something we did much... in Maryland about the least comfortable thing is a leather seat from May-Oct. I used the old rattan/wire types in the way-old-days... I was just thinking; 'just maybe? Not only...does this work, but so well, I bought a second one day after using the first. My work truck has cloth - but I still prefer air flow. It is not as wide as my Volvo V70's seat, but wider than my butt. I thought the attachment system was odd - 'till I used it: 100% effective. Ventilation cushion is made of a mesh nylon type material and is formed to provide an air space between your butt and the car seat. However due to the fact that there is nothing to prevent the two layers that are separated from being mashed flat when you sit on it, it just becomes a flat piece of material between you and the seat which means no ventilation or air flow of any kind.
