Safe
I have a munchkin Persian. She’s very little and this medication worked/is working well for her. I worry about chemicals and harmful irritants for her, but this is safe for her. I noticed a difference in a week after only bathing her once with dawn. No more scratching or fleas. It doesn’t smell, you easily clip it on and cut to the length you need if it’s too long. She hasn’t chewed or messed with it like her actual collar. I don’t think she knows she’s even wearing it. Great quality. The price is worth it don’t opt for the other cheaper products.

What a Good Investment This Was. It Works!!
I have to admit that I was skeptical of this product and the price point. I have a semi-feral cat likes to come inside during the day. He is not totally tame and doesn't like to be messed with a lot. To flea comb him is to risk being bitten (and he doesn't hesitate to bite). He was having a flea issue in the summer. I have had poor results from topical flea medicine in the past, so thought I would try this, because I didn't want a flea infestation in my house. Wow, he stopped scratching and the fleas disappeared from his fur very quickly after getting this product. He hasn't had any skin issues with the collar, his health is robust. If I could turn back time, I wish this would have been available LONG ago, I could have GLADLY used this product on some of my cats and dogs in years gone by.

TO DIE FOR...If you're a flea or tick.
I have purchased this for both dogs and cats for the past 6-7 years. They are a little pricey, up front. But they work for 8 months. They keep my pets free of fleas AND ticks! Other collars don't do this. I purchased one for a lady whose little dog was eat up with fleas. It was bloody where she had scratched and bitten at the fleas. She had spent over $100.00 in collars and shampoos. Nothing worked. Horrified, I purchase this collar for her. In less than 2 weeks she called me. The pup was flea free and the wounds scabbed over and healing nicely! No more scratching and crying! I love these collars...

IT WORKS!!!
If you know anything at all about house cats, you know they’re full of tenacity, and audacity. Once your indoor cat gets a taste of the outdoors, it’s just about impawsible to keep them from wanting to be outside all the time! That’s what happened with my cat The Baroness Meowtilda Von Softiepaws (street name: Tilly). Tilly slipped out the back door when I opened it to let my smelly little dogs out. Of course I freaked out thinking she’d run away and I’d never see her again. But Tilly stayed in the back yard and came inside after a few minutes. I vowed to never let her out again. But 1) she’s a cat with quintessential cat-like reflexes and is better than I am on her worst day, when I’m on my best day. 2) The audacity I mentioned earlier is STRONG in her 3) she DOES NOT like to be picked up/held, or confined in any way, and I value the use of my hands. She’s never been aggressive with me, but I prefer not to make too many waves. So keeping her from slipping outside from time to time was not a job for which I am well equipped. Over time I got more comfortable with it since Tilly always stayed close to the house, and was always in the house over night. She has never been injured on her excursions. Then, we had a big problem. Remember the smelly little dogs? Well they suddenly became smelly AND itchy! And that’s when I saw it. The dreaded flea infestation. The dogs are treated for fleas and ticks, so that meant the harbinger of the plague was feline, in species. Now imagine gentle reader, if Tilly is not the type of cat to allow cuddling, what are the chances she’s the type of cat to allow herself to be bathed with flea soap? Nil. The answer is, nil. Several essential oils sprays, and flea combing sessions later- I had finally eradicated the infestation. Unfortunately Tilly developed some harsh looking ulcers on her skin which the vet advised was due to an allergy related to the flea bites. I felt awful, but I got her ulcers treated and cleared up quickly (thankfully, because they were shocking to look at and I doubt they were comfortable). My vet recommended the Soresto Flea and Tick Collar for several reasons. She said 1) it works, 2) it’s made for cats and dogs, 3) it lasts for up 8 l months. She did say “it’s one of the pricier options…” but she swore by its effectiveness, and said it was worth it the price. Of course this had my anxiety riddled brain thinking these collars cost enough to make me have to decide between purchasing one, or paying my mortgage. Turns out the collars are about $68, and since they’re supposed to last 8 months, that breaks down to about $8.50/month, or ~.28/ day! So I bought one and decided to give it a try. If it didn’t work, I’d know for the future and I would try something else. Well, guess what? IT WORKS! There is no chemical scent to it, it’s made of a flexible rubber type material, and it’s adjustable. I thought I’d have to fight with Tilly to get the collar on her (she prefers to go au naturale), but since the collar is adjustable with a lot of extra length, it was really easy to slip it on her neck and then pull it to tighten it. It helps to have a lickable treat at the ready to occupy your cat, if they’re resistant to being collared. The collar even comes with little plastic reflectors you can attach which is great if your cat goes out in the evenings at all. Tilly scratched at her neck and the collar for the first day or so, but then she accepted it, and now I don’t think she even notices it. I haven’t had a single flea or tick on ANY of my Fuzz Butts since using this collar, and we are going on 3 years. If I had one request, it would be for whoever is in charge to make this an item you can set up as a subscription, and automatically get a new collar every 8 months. I know I forgot to replaces Tilly’s collar for about 10 months (and it still worked!), and I don’t want to take the chance of forgetting again. For now I have a reminder on my phone, along with the reminder to change my air filter and to test my smoke alarms. But it would be much easier if I could get a new one automatically. Other than that- 10/10 recommend and your fuzz butts and sanity will love you for it!

Six months. Still working. Healthy cats. Yes, I will buy again.
I have four cats and Advantage had stopped working completely. The house and cats were hopping with fleas. It was horrible. I vacuumed. And flea combed. And used various products in the house short of fogging which is impractical when you have four cats living there. The vet's assistant had suggested these collars as an option. Came to Amazon because the price was much better and I needed multiple collars. Then I saw the reviews where people claimed their cats died and developed horrible skin reactions. That was a bit offputting. I hesitated. But the fleas were very bad and the vet's office--which I trust--had recommended them. I ordered three collars, figuring that I'd put them on my healthiest youngest kitties first (ages 11, 7 and 4--weights 10 to 16 pounds) first. My 14 year old cat (6 pounds) loves to be combed, so I would just comb her. When the collars arrived I, for perhaps the first time in my life, read the package insert that discussed the company's trials of the product. The only notable side effect observed in testing (as I recall it) was some dermatitis. It wasn't a lot of the trial participants but it was observed, and this explains the folks whose cats lost hair. Encouraged by the package insert, I put the collars on the cats. Initially, I was afraid that one of them was getting lethargic. Then I decided he had always been that lethargic and I was just paying more attention because I was afraid I was doing something that might kill my cats. Ultimately, the only effect these collars had was killing fleas. It took a couple of weeks because the fleas had gotten so bad, but they went away. About 99%. And the cool thing is, they also went away on my one cat on which I did not put a collar. Just having three collared flea killing machines wandering the house protects my fourth cat as well. She gets the occasional flea, but it's rare. And while I used to comb her twice a day to get the fleas off now I comb her once a week and find maybe one or two. Which seems pretty unavoidable given that she and two of the other cats go outside. It's been about six months now so the collars are supposed to last another couple of months. Hoping that by December there won't be fleas around to kill and that I can wait until spring for the next round of collars. Great product. Less expensive than Advantage for comparable months of effectiveness. And works like Advantage used to work when it was new.

Seems to have stopped stubborn fleas
After trying over a couple months to use liquid flea treatments on our pets to no avail, we tried these expensive collars. They seem to be doing the trick! The cats still fuss about the collars, but the fleas are gone.

Good, but watch for reactions.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I like the idea of flea and tick protection along with an 8 month wearable. I've had mixed results however. The effectiveness seems to start to wear off around 6 months, not 8. Also, the collar needs to be snug or it doesn't work. When they say 2 fingers they mean it, no loser, no tighter. The biggest problem is that 2 of the 8 cats I've put collars on have developed sores on their necks. It's the similar burn mark that I've seen from other topicals. Although my cats do fine with the topicals, so there is something specific in these collars they are bothered with. They've had Advantage II, Frontline and Revolution with no issues. Make sure to keep an eye on your cat to make sure there's no reaction. It took a week or so to show up.

Finally found peace! Worth every penny!
Perfection. Finally After months of misery, flea drop after drop, switching brands.. no sleep.. scratching and biting 24/7.. To: it’s a miracle!!! The Seresto cat collar WORKS!!! The first couple of days I was skeptical as the cats continue to scratch and continue to wake up in the middle of their sleep to itch. They also did not like the feel of the color around their neck because they had never wore a collar before. Day 4 all scratching all biting is completely resolved!!! Cats are comfortable, at peace and we can all sleep! Don’t hesitate the collar is worth every single penny I will continue to purchase this product!!!
