Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81wWXjwcZUL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: The jtdat5ch has no audio output when the hdmi output is plugged into an hdmi to dvi adapter. does the jtd4katsw suffer this same limitation?** A: yeah, DVI is a video only connector, audio doesn't go near it. which was why HDMI was so revolutionary as an all in one cable.. your issue is your HDMI going into this J-Tech unit is that it doesn't have any audio information at all, just video. so what you need is a DVI to HDMI converter box that combines the dvi signal with a digital audio output from the source (either coax or optical) to a regular HDMI signal.. a simple gender adapter won't do that, need an actual converter box and I did a search and only found ones that had analog 2ch audio, not digital audio but it'd at least work.. or just connect your computer to the monitor or receiver diraectly via the computers digital or analog audio outputs separately, tho this doesn't help with tv's.. if you were looking for this as a solution for no audio on tv, this J-tech isn't it. it is used for older audio devices that do not accept an HDMI connection (either directly from an HDMI source such as a console, bluray, or other and then connected via hdmi to the tv while you use the optical output on this device to go to an audio receiver or plug all your hdmi output devices into the tv and take the audio output from the tv's ARC/eARC HDMI output.. this is how I am using it as my tv's optical output doesn't allow for volume control and I don't wanna use two remotes plus it converts dolby digital to a 5.1 format the optical connection can handle as it can't transfer it due to limitations of the format. only ARC/eARC can transmit it but I only have optical inputs on the receiver..) good luck! **Q: Does the hdmi arc support also adjust the rca output volume? The replacement ROKU devices no longer have optical out. This box worked perfectly for me. ### ⭐ Broke after 8 months, support is useless, buy another brand *by S***H on May 31, 2024* This worked great up until the 8 month mark, after which it stopped outputting video while audio still worked. I went through all the usual troubleshooting tips, tried it with my chromecast ultra, samsung blu-ray player, 2 different laptops, and gaming desktop with a 3070. All of them played audio through this audio extractor but the TV still said no signal. Bypassing the extractor and plugging each of these in directly worked fine. At first, support was helpful and they sent me a replacement, but the replacement had the same issue. Wanting to determine once and for all if it was the extractor's fault, I bought another brand (the VPFET HDMI audio extractor), and lo and behold it worked perfectly using the exact same input devices and cables I was using with this one - essentially proving that something in this audio extractor had stopped working with my setup. Here's where support started to get annoying and useless, after I sent it back again with an excruciating amount of detail about the video modes of every device I tested it with and with the information that a different audio extractor worked fine, proving that theirs is faulty, I was given back a video of them using the device with their own TV of a different brand as if that proves that it doesn't have issues with any other device (and they didn't even use the same generation chromecast that I used it with, not that it matters as much since I tried 5 different devices to no avail). At this point they are refusing to do anything other than return to me the malfunctioning unit or give me store credit to buy another one of their products, which obviously is useless to me since I already needed to buy another brand to prove that their audio extractor was the issue, and if they returned the unit to me the only thing I can do is toss it in the trash since the HDMI output is broken as far as I can tell. 0/10 do not buy, the supposed 1 year warranty just gets you a broken unit sent back to you.
