Q: What is the difference between this product and the Trapper T-Rex that is more expensive?

One is a set of two rat traps and the other a set of six rat traps. Be careful not to buy the mouse traps, they will not trap rats as those traps are too small. The rat traps I bought work great and did not break having trapped more than a dozen large Norwegian Ship rats the first week I set them out. Seattle has big rats that can multiply quickly in a small area and these traps get them and kill them quickly and humanely without poison. I have never found the trap tripped without a dead rat in it. Both traps (I have two) still work perfectly. I also keep them inside a locked rat box so other animals and children cannot get to them and get injured. Peanut butter works good as bait. When I tried to use a snap trap all it did was hurl a huge rat through the air. My wife saw it happen out the kitchen window. If you want to kill rats, buy these traps. Anyone telling you not to is selling a competing product that is not as good. The only bad part is having to clean the trap after each kill. Wear disposable rubber gloves.

Q: Catches rats easily but all of a sudden it's attracting birds! (It's in my lemon tree.) What can I do to discourage birds?

Take a shoe box or other similar sized box and cut an access hole in it. Place the TRex just inside the opening on doubled up tape with bait inside. I just throw away the whole box with trap and critter after success. The box keeps dogs and other animals from getting to the trap.

Q: Read a bunch of 2-year-old reviews about plastic quality and breakage. Is this still an issue?

I've had a set if two for 8 months now. They've caught countless mice. Sometime 2 in one shot. I've had zero issues with them so far.

Q: Has the manufacture fxed the low quality plastic issue because i do not want to buy if it malfunctions

I'm not aware of any "low quality plastic" issues. I have used many of these over the years to eliminate chipmunks. They are very effective. I've had no issues with the plastic. The only issues I've had with them is that the springs will rust and eventually break when the trap is placed in the weather continuously. Hope this helps.
