They are a little longer than I thought they would be, but you can roll them a little or bunch them to make them any length. They don't totally wrap around like a skirt, there is an opening, but not a large one. It's almost, perfect. The ties aren't too long either. You can really adjust it how you want. Longer or shorter, tighter or more loose fitting. I'm sure you could use it around your chest too if needed with the tie even in the back. It washed up perfect. No wrinkles. I hung dry them both. They don't stain or discolor either. I am buying them for my daughters too. So any age can wear them.
