Recently my band has started getting complaints / warnings from pubs and clubs that we're too loud - I tell them that acoustic drums don't have a volume knob, but they're generally unmoved. I tried 7A carbon fibre rods, but my bassist thought they were far too quiet (and they feel very 'flappy'), so thought I'd give these 7A a go. No idea if they're quieter than the 5A (no more complaints as yet) but I've got used to them very quickly, the raw finish feels good in the hand and they seem less prone to chipping on the hats than Vic Firths.
