Highly readable
Very readable, moreso than the black dial available from the same mfg. No internal light. I purchased this compass to mount into the flat panel in the front cockpit of a Hobie Oasis 2 person kayak. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to cut a 3 inch diameter hole in the boat. I ended up rigging a quite usable adapter from PVC fittings and a Ram Ball to a mounting track.

Great product!
Recently purchased on Amazon a Richie V-527 Slope mount kayak compass and it works excellent on our 18 foot sailboat! The reason we selected the slope mount was the configuration of our small sail boat. Seems to be very well made and durable. Good job!

What I was hoping for
The compass will serve its intended purpose successfully. Good display and easy instructions. Mounting could have gone a little easier if there was some coordination with the kayak manufacturers.
