A GREAT tool for Air Con flares
What a fantastic tool at a good price. I purchased this and have used it to create flares for my aircon mini split. The flares it produces are excellent, after a successful nitrogen test and vacuum test with no issues we went live. :-) I rarely recommend a tool here as many are just ok. Buy this for air con flares you will not be disappointed. Good to have a flare gauge to make sure they are the right size. Lubricate the cone with a little air con oil to get a perfect flare. Easy to use, do a little practice first. DO NOT FORGET TO PUT THE NUT ON FIRST :-) AND TORQUE THE CONNECTIONS TO THE MANUFACTURERS SETTINGS.

Worked well on 3/8, seems quality & sturdy. MY error but not fit 6mm pipe
Made really nice flare on 3/8 pipe, body does slide over without removing screws, you just have to close that end. My mistake, I figured as vast majority of HVAC stuff seems to be imperial, 1/4, 3/8's etc. that it would fit my ElectriQ mini split system small pipe but does not grip what turned out to be 6mm (outer). 1/4 = 6.35mm so just pushes the pipe through & not flare. I guess either the large pipe is 3/8 or close enough metric/imperial. Still happy I have this as the elliptical rotation does a lovely job on the larger which I suspect needs more force & motion. bought a cheaper metric one for 6mm, not as nice using but does the job OK.

would recommend this tool
did the job for brake lines. this is flare tool with a conical flare / taper flare. The originals were bubble flare. But the tool I had previous would not flare properly. So sent it back. The taper flares sealed ok and would therefore recommend this tool- its robust and easy and easier to understand how to use and clamp the line for flaring, Also once flared it has a clutch so you know when flare is complete

Good
Nice tool. Perfect flares. Had to remove the 2 x screws/bolts from the gadget as couldn't get the flaring bit over with them in.

This eccentric flaring tool is an improvement over the older style ones that I'm used to using on auto brake lines. It really worked smoothly and easily on the copper mini split lines that I used it on, and there's been no leakage on those connections since. Beautiful thing.
