I've put these on most of my shotguns. and because I usually am wanting to reduce LOP instead of increasing it, I cut my stock down so that I get the LOP I want with the recoil pad installed. Installation is pretty easy. hold the base of the pad up to your stock and then draw an outline with a fine marker or something. Then take it out to the belt sander and grind away. works pretty well, and a side benefit is that it cleans your sanding belts up good as new. After the initial dry grind with a super course belt, the pad can be really "sticky" feeling, because there is a lot of extra surface area because of the roughness of the grind - hmm, hard to explain. because the initial grind doesn't leave a smooth surface, the sides of the pad will feel very sticky. I highly recommend taking your time to put a really good wet grind on it. for this you use a little finer belt - not too fine, its still a fairly coarse belt, its just finer than the dry grind belt. saturate the belt with WD40 and then what you are doing is essentially polishing up the sides of the pad. do several rounds of wet grinding being sure to refresh the WD40 when needed and I think you'll be impressed with the results.

I bought this grind to fit limbsaver for my Rem.270 after a punishing afternoon at the range. Limbsaver customer service was great before the purchase. They emailed me a page of templates and I selected the one that fit the closest to the butt plate of the rifle. It was a close enough fit such that grinding was really not necessary. This is the second grind to fit limbsaver that I have purchased within a year. The first one was for a Weatherby .300 win mag and the limbsaver made such a difference in the recoil. I'm very satisfied with both and can't say enough positive things about Limbsavers. They are good quality and make a world of difference with the recoil. Buy it, but before you pull the trigger, make sure you take off the butt plate on your riffle and match it with the right template to get the correct model.

First off I like to say that this is a good product. It definitely reduced recoil on my Mossberg 500 wood stock. Now this is a grind to fit recoil pad and will require additional items to do properly. So instead of purchasing additional items and performing the grinding myself I had a gunsmith do it. It came out well and looks pretty good. The only complaint I would have is the finished look. It did not polish up very well and you can sort of notice it up close. To give an idea of how well this recoil pad performed I put 20-2 3/4 shells, 8- 3 inch magnum turkey loads, and 5- sabot slugs all in one day with no kind of bruising.

This is probably my 10th grind to fit pad I have purchased over the past 5 years. I have short arms and have to cut my rifles to fit my length of pull. Easy to use, fit great, and it soaks up the recoil better than the original pads on the gun. Highly recommend Limbsaver brand.

To soft, makes a gooey mess while using a belt sander. I also bought the Jig to use which worked well but the pad is so soft the toe does not sand smooth and leaves a feather edge that just flexes out of the way when it hits that sanding belt. It turned out pretty good but could be way better. Going with another brand next time. PPE required, wear a mask it goes everywhere.

Bought 2 of these and installed them on my turkey guns after falling in love with a slip on version I bought for my kids gun. Fantastic material and quality. Seem to hold up well and look great. Overall I believe they make HUGE difference over other recoil pads.

Fit great on my 1981 Beretta A302 12 gauge Shotgun , it needed minor grinding and minor oval hole enlargements to align the recoil pad ... LimbSaver is a company name brand you can trust ....

Good product and arrived in a retail package. The recoil pad was not perfectly formed but was usable. It is a grind to fit and I was able to grind out the poorly formed section so it worked for me.
