OFFI MyPetLamp - Dachshund Co., Color = Mellow Yellow

I love it and thought it was cute. I got it for my 16 yr old daughter who's bedroom we just did over. I guess I was way off - so not cool mom..... I actually would like to return it - but no return slip was included. I sent an email to Amazon and was told I should be getting a email but yet have to.

We decorated our baby girls room in dachshund theme, so this was a must have for us! I wasn't too fond of the price and opted to buy the used listing, which wasn't actually used as it was all sealed in original packaging. Very happy with this purchase! The light gives off a soft and sweet light, perfect for nightight. Enough light to change a diaper in the middle of the night without straining eyes with bright lights.

This is super cute. Love the idea! The bulb that comes with it is actually quite bright - brighter than any other night lite I have seen. I had to find a dimmer bulb so that the room wasn't so bright, but otherwise really like it!

I have this lamp on the floor in my baby's room - it's the perfect amount of light so that I can see what I'm doing at 3am diaper changes, yet not so bright I can't leave it on all night. It's been on every night, all night, for the past 3 months. I've had no problems with it. UPDATE: The light eventually shorted out (under a year of having it) and I haven' been able to find a replacement. Now it's just a non-working decoration in my nursery. I have revised my rating accordingly.

It's so much bigger than I ever imagined !! Yes, I saw the measurements when ordering, but it just didn't compute in my brain I guess !! When it arrived yesterday, I was so excited to see it - and I just love it !! I put a cute little heart sticker as the eye AND one of my dachshund's little bandanas around the neck - so it looks so adorable and not so plain because my hubby said it looked like it needed something !! It's atop my television and makes the entire corner light up in a light pink. cool look !!

First of all this is basically heavy plastic and there is a seam that runs the length. The light uses a halogen bulb with a 12V DC adapter. The bulb is available at places like Lowe's and is the same as those used in landscape lighting. The first problem we encountered was the adapter plug to the lamp base. It kept falling out. I eventually had to drill some small holes in the lamp holder so I could tie-wrap it down. After about 2 months of it running a nightly timer for about 3 hours a day, the lamp burnt out. Replaced the bulb and shortly after it stopped working again; this time the adapter connector in the lamp was bad. I had to modify the cord so it is now permanently soldered into the lamp. It's been working fine for several years now, but it still burns through bulbs.

To be perfectly honest, I have not seen the lamp, however my granddaughter thinks it is just beautiful and loves it. If my gorgeous 9 year old granddaughter says it is great and wonderful etc, then it must be. I will have to wait to view this item. Thank you for making a 9 year old so happy.

Kind of over priced...

Be aware that this item is shipped from the USA so attracts import duty and is supplied with a125 volt adapter. You will need to get a good old British 240v adapter. Other than that, it's overpriced but the lion's share of the cost is the postage. It's Ok if you really really like Dachshunds.
