It works! And the button doesn’t get stuck if you do it right!
The lock was extremely easy to install and other reviewers who complained about it getting stuck simply did not install it correctly. How do I know? I initially installed it incorrectly and the button got stuck! You really have to make sure you drill holes into the post using a 5/8 sized drill bit. You could drill smaller holes which the plastic pilot tubes could fit but it makes it extremely snug and does give it space for the metal rods to be perfectly parallel. This causes the button to stick. So do yourself a favor and drill larger pilot holes so that there is room for the metal rods to anchor to the other side of the lock without having to bend or force them into place. The lock is very sturdy and is lockable from both sides. I’m a regular dude and have not been paid to promote this. I bought this even though there were a considerable amount of reviews saying the button get stuck and was a little apprehensive about the purchase. But everything turned out great and some peeps just need to learn how to follow directions. (Including myself)

Easy install, works well
My old gate latch broke and I wanted one that I could lock and open from both sides. This fit the bill. Install was easy enough and the provided fasteners secure it to the gate really well.

Simple to install, great quality, works well
I installed this gate latch and am very impressed with everything about it. The instructions are very clear and the template that is supplied to ensure that you get a level/clean installation was very handy. I did read several complaints that the screws that are included in the package are not the best quality, BUT, get the proper screw driver and they work fine. I put a little liquid dish soap on each and they went in to treated lumber well. I did use longer screws on the gate portion because of the way that my gate is constructed. I needed to ensure that i was driving through the meat of the board, and not just the trim pieces so that the weight of the gate didn't loosen things over time. You will need to make two cuts on the metal pins that connect the front and back pieces of the latch, but they are marked very clearly. One thing that wasn't clear to me was whether the lock mechanism is required for use. BOTH sides of the latch require keys, so if you unlock both of them and put the keys in the garage you don't ever have to be worried about getting locked behind the gate. :) . I don't need to lock my gate, but I needed a sturdy latch and this product really fills that need. My pics are in this order; Outside of the gate with the gate closed. The post with the Outside and Inside latches installed. Inside of the gate with the gate closed. The gate pin with the longer screws so that I could drive in to the 2x6 in the middle of the gate. Installation took less than an hour. I need to build another service yard on the side of my house this summer to cover a propane tank, etc, and I will purchase this same unit.

Mostly happy
MUCH better than my last lock. Recently I purchased a different locking latch for my new gate on Amazon. It was complete garbage and is being returned. This lock is its replacement. The all metal construction on this unit is far superior to the crappy plastic lock I purchased previously. I'm very happy with how much more solid it is, how much more durable it is going to be, and how much better it looks installed. HOWEVER, I did run into an issue during installation. What should have been a 20 minute install took almost two hours of taking it apart examining it, putting it back together and trying to diagnose what wasn't working. THE PROBLEM: it turns out that the rod for the push button was glued / welded in place crooked. Off of the gate the button pushes in and out with no problem and even has a nice little spring (much nicer than the other lock). But once installed, the rod fits into a little hole on the other side of the post and because the rod was crooked the hole on the other side would hold the button crooked in its slot and cause the button to rub and bind against the housing. I was finally able to bend the rod a little bit to correct the defect and it now works great. PROS: * Sturdy metal construction * Nice finish * Came with 4 keys. I purchased a second lock for my other gate, so that is 4 more keys. It concerns me a bit that both locks had the same keys, but the cylinders say they are rekeyable, so I can always rekey the 4 locks and make new keys for it. CONS: * Quality control on welding the bar that required modification in the field. Most installers would not have been able to figure it out. * The screws it comes with are pretty short. I ended up beefing up a couple of them with deck screws to make sure the hardware didn't pull out of the gate over time. * The locking mechanism is much smoother than the plastic lock I purchased previously, but there is no click or other indication that the lock has been engaged. You twist the key around and then a little further and then have to twist it back to where you can pull it out. Over time I'm sure I'll learn which way to turn it to lock it and which way to unlock it ... but it requires a bit more fumbling around with the lock than it should. * The hardware outside the gate has all of the screws exposed. If the gate were fatter, at least part of them would be covered but in my case the gate is 1.5" thick on a 3.5" gate post and has to align flush with the back side of the gate posts. That leaves all of the screws for the mechanism on the outside of the gate exposed. Basically, with a screwdriver, one could take the lock assembly off of the outside of the gate, even if locked. The inside gate elements would still be held in place but a simple narrow blade flathead screw driver could then turn the lock and defeat it from the outside. Basically this lock will work well for deterrence, but it might need some additional measures / modifications before it should be considered for security.

This works on a 4x4 not with a vinyl PVC insert.
This gate Lodge even though there are videos on YouTube showing how to mount it when you have a 4x4 and a PVC insert because I have vinyl fencing where you have to drill the 5/8 hole literally right at the edge of the 4x4 and the plastic insert. This does not work when you have a vinyl fence that has a 4x4 PVC insert. It is a shame that I took so long to return it. Now I can't get my refund back a waste of money.

Lock Core Seems Very Loose
I got this lock about a week ago and installed it just yesterday and it looks great and is very functional. The problem I have with it is the lock core of it seems as though it could fall out at any minute. Not sure if mine is slightly defective or not but we will see how it holds up over time. Would recommend but buyer beware the core feels oddly loose.

Smooth operation on latch and lock.
I had brand X before and decided to to try this brand on my new gate. Good decision! Love the ease of operation. Just a side note. I used a half inch drill block for a guide when drilling through the wood post.

Highly recommend. I had cut top spindle too short and gate would not lock from outside. Called Nationwide Industries and they sent out a spindle extender kit at no charge. Gate works as advertised now!!

Used the lock on my gate. I like the most that you can lock and unlock from both sides. Not just a lever to close, you get actually a keyed lock. Well worth the money. I did not like that the manufacturer only supports up to 5 inch frame. When you work with a 2x6 frame you need to support up to 5.5 inch. I had to notch it out to 5 inch. All they would have to do give a little longer bar on the adjustable extension.

This lock saved me and solved my problem. I needed the back porch to open on both sides so my wife can shorten a 10 minutes walk to the bus station. It arrived pretty quick and the installation was piece of cake. It works great. I have no idea how it will be in time but I expect the best.

Good quality product. I like opening with the push button from the outside. Only cons that get some time to figure out is how to insert and remove the key on an angle.
