Great detector. Arrived really quick considering the distance it traveled. Arrived well packed and quickly assembled for test run. The only gripe I have is the illustration on the order appeared to show 2 coil heads which led me to believe if was a US version of the Pro Plus and was a real bargain. Unfortunately during the transit time the picture magically changed to a single version coil. Not happy about that. However it was still a bargain compared to the equivalent UK prices on Amazon. As I said quick delivery , One week earlier than indicated on the Amazon Your orders page. Quite exciting watching it being dispatched from New York and arriving in the UK then being picked up by Royal Mail and delivered to my house in record time. Well done for that. Now waiting for some fine weather so I can go and find some treasures lol

I was battling a choice of Minelab vs Garrett, I’m glad I went with the Minelab, I ultimately choose the 540 for its multi frequency, I had read that it preformed quite well in wet sand; We’ll I just took a trip to the beach, and it did very well!, I set the sensitivity down 2 clicks, and went to work. Found some pocket change, hotwheel car, some rings, and some other odds and ends. Very happy with my purchase.

I was really frustrated at first with this machine, almost returned it to the seller. The problem wasn't the machine, it was me not knowing how to understand it better on trashy, or junk signals. The machine does detect gold/silver, and it has good depth on lots of targets, but it takes time to get used to what is a good target, and what isn't a good target. For example if you are in coin mode and you are getting jumping, skippy signals, its most likely junk. What I have done is now is focused on more solid signals, and I prefer no iron coming back to me in all metal mode. Then I know I have a lot better chance at a target. That's me, give the machine 50 hours at least to learn it. If you are a beach detecting, turn your sensitivity down by two notches if you are running full blast on sensitivity. Remember use that all metal mode when you are not sure about a target, see if you are getting iron coming back. Some people will say, forget that I dig everything, there could be a coin with the nail beside it that is giving the iron. Maybe, maybe not, that is a decision you have to decide on how much you feel like digging. The coil is waterproof, the upper part with the controls and button isn't. You will want a sand scoop too if you are at the beach, it comes in very handy. Another thing with beaches, if you can see your foot prints in the sand, you are on wet sand, if you don't have a good scoop, you are going to enter the abyss of wet sand nightmare. You will be digging and digging while your target slips further below, if you don't have a good scoop. If you are new, avoid wet sand, if you don't have a good scoop.

A present for my son, he was thrilled with the functions. Compact and light.
