Basics of Emergency Medicine: A Chief Complaint Based Guide, 4th ed. [Joseph Habboushe, Eric M. Steinberg] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Basics of Emergency Medicine: A Chief Complaint Based Guide, 4th ed. Review: Love it - I absolutely loved this as a PA student doing my emergency medicine rotation. It is divided by chief complaint, so you can quickly recall what physical exam components to do, some differential diagnoses, red flags, and how to work them up. This booklet is small and fit in my scrub pants pocket. Perfect for when you only have a couple minutes to look something up. Highly recommend. Review: Good information - Succinct. Easy to use. Lots of acronyms to remember for the book

Good guide for the most common problems encountered
The book is pretty straightforward, however one thing I strongly encourage them to change is the too liberal use of acronyms without explaining what that is, for example, I have no idea what TOA stands for and it's not in the glossary itself, so it's kind of annoying whenever I come across this sort of situation in the book. EMRA, please at least update your glossary to capture most of the acronyms used.

The emergency medicine guide that gives all important info
This is a very invaluable resource for common conditions, I took a lot of time writing the first line treatments and diagnostics to a lot of these conditions before I knew this book existed. Now its a matter of locating the admitting diagnosis and getting a general baseline of where to start. Too help for a nurse practitioner student.

An excellent resource!
I am a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner and this book is small enough to fit into my lab coat and carry around without bulk. The booklet provides differential diagnoses based on system and body part. I also use the EMRA Antibiotic Guide, another great resource! This booklet will help with interventions upon admission or presentation and during hospitalization. This would be a great resource for NP and PA students as well as residents. Buy this book!
