I already had 12 of these BR30 bulbs for years and decided to add 4 more. 3 were perfectly fine but the 4th one had problems screwing into the socket during installation. Ion close inspection, the thread is damaged and definitely would not allow it to screw in straight. Besides the one damaged bulb, I like these lights as they are bright and the colors are great for fun and mood. I appreciate the Wifi connectivity as they seem more reliable than other types of bulbs. The app has evolved and provides lots of options for control and management. In total, I have 30 various Lifx bulbs and light strips that work well together. I've purchased them at both full price and on sale and the value is well worth it in my opinion. Some bulbs have had problems and customer support has usually been able to fix or replace them with new ones. I have these bulbs all integrated with SmartThings hub and have automated routines setup based on motion or time of day. I also have them tied into Amazon Alexa for easy voice control on my smart home setup.

I ordered 8 of these for my new apartment. They are brighter than the incandescent bulbs my landlords had before, so it really fills the room with light. Setting them up is a bit manual and you have to wait about 3-5 minutes per bulb for Apple Home to register it with your network. Aside from that minor inconvenience, 7 of the 8 paired perfectly. One, however, continually failed to connect to both the app and Apple Home, in spite of factory reset and the "Wifi Method". The solution was to 1) wait for the Wifi method, 2) update to the latest firmware (3.90) at time of writing in the Wifi wizard, 3) factory reset it by power cycling 5 times, and 4) attempt to connect it normally. After that, it worked good as new and I am generally satisfied so far.

It's hard for me to overstate just how frustrating it has been work with these lights. To be sure, they are bright and offer a full color spectrum but once you get them connected to your wifi -- IF you are successful in connecting them -- in my experience you can expect them to disconnect for no apparent reason at least once a month. OK. That's bad but what's even worse and more aggravating is that reconnecting them is a circus of frustration -- some bulbs in a location will connect just fine but 1 o2 others will not and that then seems to impact the entire group of bulbs and then you reset and then they are all disconnected.... Etc. It is just one thing after another. Adding to these issues, there is no getting through to tech support on the phone about these problems and how to address. There is no known phone number that I can find anywhere (and even if I did find one, I'm quite sure they wouldn't pick up because they're quite clear they don't offer phone support). I finally was able to identify an email tech support address ([email protected]) but responses are SLOW in coming and limited to email. My experience is that I get an initial response after a day, maybe two but if there is any need for follow-up -- and there almost always is given the erratic nature of the connection -- you again have to wait another day or two for a response. Then another, then another.... Before you know it it's been two weeks and the lights still don't work. Again, the quality of the lights and colors are terrific but this is completely overcome by the erratic connection of these bulbs to wifi and the buggy setup/connection process. After months of trying to make it work, I'm tossing them and going with another brand of lights. My new lights may not be as bright or colorful but at least they'll turn on when I need them. I would strongly discourage anyone from purchasing the LIFX bulbs.

Horrible. The app is terrible and they will not connect. Website "support" is worthless Update: if you take some time to navigate the setup, the lights themselves are awesome. I had to reconfigure our dual band wifi to set up the lights. A pain to figure out
