How is Zymox Plus different from Zymox (with the blue label)? both say 1.0 hydrocortisone.

My veterinarian said just to use the regular Zymox. It’s $10 cheaper and has the exact same ingredient. I looked it up myself. You can see the active ingredient in the inactive ingredient. Everything is the same. It’s kind of like the namebrand Excedrin. They they packaged their product in different ways. They have Excedrin for headaches Excedrin for migraine. Exactly the same product. A lot of companies do that apparently. Hope this helps

how do you get all the wax off the inside of the ears where it flushes out from the ear drops

This is a bit thicker, kind of like the consistency of neosporin, so if your dogs ears are really wax-y right now, I would suggest doing a light cleaning before putting this in the ears. Once you put the zymox into the ear, rub your dogs ears kind of in a circular motion to help massage the solution down into the ear canal, and then just let it sit and do it's thing. Over time there will be less wax build up to clean out before applying the ointment. I now put it in my dogs ears about once every 10 to 15 days, just as maintenance and care, without needing any wax clean up before hand or afterwards.

Is this supposed to be liquidy/thin like water (not thick)? What I received is a different consistency than the thicker regular zymox I'm used to.

I ordered and received a bottle this week and the solution is much thinner than the previous zymox plus otic-hc advanced formula bottles I've ordered. I haven't used it yet but just by shaking the bottle I can tell it is very liquidy compared to the bottle I have left over. I also compared the boxes and the box I received this week looks different as well. The font is different and the box has a different texture. I also read the paper inside and noticed a major typo on the one I just received. Instead of spelling "externa" they spelled "exernna" 🤦🏽♀️ The boxes have different lot numbers and the box that I have already opened has a later expiration date than the box I just received. I hope they didn't send me a knock off. This enzymatic solution usually works wonders on my Boxer and completely cures her ear infections when I use it as directed. I will update you on the effectiveness of the bottle I just received after I use it.
