I recently purchased this handy tool designed to identify the source of hidden moisture. This tool proved to be incredibly effective, helping me pinpoint the musty smell in my basement to the rug in my office. Seems to work as expected. There’s really no easy way to fully verify the readings, but it gives appropriate, consistent measurements and behaves exactly how I’d expect it to. It’s simple to use, responds quickly, and provides peace of mind—especially for anyone running a wood stove or fireplace. Definitely one of those tools that’s good to have handy even if you have chance of burning dry verus green wood.

I was actually surprised with the quality of this moisture meter. It feels solid and well made in your hand, - not flimsy. It's easy to use. Just turn it on and press both pins in the end of the device into the wood at least 5cm from the edge to get an accurate reading. The display is large, back lit and easy to read. It comes in a storage box wrapped in a cloth pouch, two additional pins, and a small tool to change them out should this become necessary. There is also an instruction pamphlet, but honestly the use of the thing is pretty self explanatory. This thing takes a reliable reading and that's all it needs to do. It's inexpensive, and with Prime, you can have it in a hurry. Definitely worth it.

Worked great. The only issue I had (which this was likely a “me” error) was being able to get enough of the metal studs into thick wood.

So konnte ich problemlos die Feuchtigkeit an verschiedenen Holzstapeln vergleichen, ohne lange überlegen zu müssen. Die Bedienung ist intuitiv, und das Gerät liegt gut in der Hand. Besonders praktisch ist, dass es für viele Materialien wie Beton, Gips und Zement ebenfalls verwendet werden kann – ein echter Allrounder. Insgesamt ein sehr nützliches und zuverlässiges Werkzeug, das ich jedem Heimwerker oder Kaminbesitzer empfehlen kann. Die klare Anzeige, der breite Messbereich und die fünf verschiedenen Modi machen es zu einem unverzichtbaren Helfer im Alltag.

Good unit. Used it to check new deck boards, worked great. A little harder to get readings on firewood but worked. All in all easy to use, a good unit.
