Where are these mugs made?

Made in Germany. They are not marked as lead free, but the box had a symbol for food safe.

Is it ceramic or stoneware ? Are these terms used interchangeably or is there is difference between them ? Thanks

They are stoneware. I have been using my set since January 2023. So far, no chips or cracks. They go in the microwave and are dishwasher safe, too.
