The location of the thumb screw (rear facing) means that it interferes with a battery grip on DSLRs like the Canon 5D3 and D70.Now the standard mount is no better, but I was hoping they would fix the problem with this replacement - no such luck. Keeping it as I can now use standard Arca style mounts.
