Excellent little pump
This is a terrific little pump, especially considering how inexpensive it is. It comes with two sets of tubing, a pair of gloves, and four hose clamps, which comprise a nice value added. I have used it thus far to remove the engine oil from a Promaster van, along with about half the ATF in the same van. In a Miata MX5, it left about a quart of engine oil in the oil pan, so not a great job there. It works quickly and efficiently, taking about 5 minutes to drain 5 quarts of oil. You want the engine oil warm, but not too hot. The manual gives a specific temp range for use. I found the suction tube is rigid enough to function well, but pliable enough to be easy to handle. I bought this to replace a Mityvac MV7201, which costs 5 times as much, and was a big disappointment. I don't know how long this will last, but first impressions are excellent. One gripe, which is minor, is that it is a bit noisy when pumping. But it's doing the job, and running the electric motor makes some noise. I can live with that. One additional feature, that should be obvious, but is still worth saying, is that you can put your used oil directly from the sump through the pump and directly into a recycling jug. A couple of suggestions I have from the get go - keep the caps for the pump, so that after use, the pump stays lubricated, and oil doesn't leak out. And find something - caps, corks, etc. to plug the ends of the tubes, so that no residual oil drips out when you're not using it. Bottom line: excellent little pump that can make oil changes and automatic transmission maintenance much easier. 18 month follow-up: I have continued to use this on a few different vehicles. It has consistently performed well, and shows no signs of failing.

It sucks...and does its job!
Actually, it works pretty damn good. Could use some longer cords and maybe a magnetic base.

good pump, not so good hose, read comments
For a fairly low price on this thing, the pump part of it really works quite well. The only thing about it is that the intake hose is rolled up when it is shipped and doesn't really straighten out really well. this causes a little bit of a problem when you put it down the dipstick tube to extract the oil because once the tube gets into the oil reservoir area, it starts to bend again and it probably has a hard time reaching the bottom of the reservoir. Fortunately I had a small piece of hard oil resistant semi-clear plastic tubing that I attached to the hose that it came with. The pump worked really well with that. If you don't have that you kind of have to pull the original hose up and down when extracting oil. I imagine if I had used a heat gun on the original hose I probably could have gotten it to straighten out or if i put a piece of small non bendable wire into the hose, that would keep it straight. In any event other than that, this thing worked quite well. It saves you from having the unplug the drain plug to extract oil. A lot of the newer cars have a metal washer/gasket that you have to buy each time you loosen it. this pump will save you from having to buy it every time. I've used it several times for oil changes and is still working great. Just my own opinion but I kind of think that loosening the drain plug to extract oil puts a lot of stress on the oil pan which might cause it to leak down the road. so that is another reason why I like this pump over removing the drain plug all the time.

Don’t bother with this one
POS, don’t bother with it. Would bring the oil about halfway up the tube, but wouldn’t pump it out. Motor is not nearly strong enough. Would’ve given it zero stars.

Made short work of doing a transmission fluid exchange
This is a huge time saver doing a quick transmission fluid exchange in my ‘14 Silverado. The pump works great, but two issues I had. The cord to the power clips had to be separated with a knife to lengthen the distance between the clips so I could attach them to my battery. The second issue. The kit comes with 4 tubes, a larger diameter softer hose and a smaller diameter hose with adapter to fit the larger hose. I found I couldn’t insert the larger hose all the way down my dipstick tube. So I used the smaller diameter hose to get it down to the pan, and attached it to the larger tube. What I found was when the pump was turned on, the larger hose collapsed under the suction and really slowed the process down. It was still working, but was taking a long time extracting a gallon of fluid. The fix for this is to use the harder smaller diameter hose in the dipstick tube, then cut maybe a 6-8” piece(or for your application), and use the included hose adapter to fit the smaller tube to the larger tube that fits on the pump. This helped tremendously. Aside from that, which isn’t the actual pumps fault it is a great must have item for making routine maintence a breeze. Even if you plan on dropping the pan and changing filter, you’ll want this pump to avoid the inevitable fluid spillage when dropping the pan. Would highly recommend this to any DYI’er

Cheap and works
Works as it should actually, pulled atf from the dipstick so that I could drop the pan of the transmission. Cheaper than other options to pull atf or oil.

Saves Time and Effort
I was a little skeptical, but this little pump performed great and saved a lot of time. Even if it fails after a couple uses, it's well worth it to avoid spilling trans fluid or taking forever to fill the transmission through the stupid dipstick tube angled almost level. As a bonus, you can suck fluid out if you overfill without making a mess. I would definitely recommend.

So far so good.... could use a few simple improvments...................
This is my second small electric engine oil pump. The first one, a different brand, but still available on Amazon, developed an internal leak after less than 10 uses. It made a big mess after that every time I used it, but I put up with it because I wanted to get my money out of it. Let's see if this one holds up any better. My guess is that they are both made by the same Chinese orphanage. My five complaints.: A. Changing oil with a pump like this tends to be a messy job. It's virtually inevitable you will end up with oily, slippery hands. The handle on the pump is not designed for this type of use. A. It is too short. B. It is too smooth textured. C. It doesn't have some kind of a knob or protrusion at its end to prevent slipping thru your hand. At a minimum some ridges in the handle might improve it dramatically in this respect. B. The small intake hose crimps at the pump end where the diameter necks down. It needs better strain relief and to be made of material which can hold up to moderately hot engine oil, ATF, etc. without going soft. The outlet hose has a similar issue, but since it is a larger diameter it does not create as much of a nuisance as the smaller intake hose. C. The flow direction arrows on the pump housing are large, but barely visible since they are the same color as the housing. Why can't they be made black or another contrasting color? D. At least this pump came with an instruction sheet. Most items I buy like this do not come with any instructions at all. However, the instruction sheet has but one substantive illustration, but it is so small as to be useless. Diagrams or photos needed, especially for assembly. E. The alligator clips on the battery cable are too close together for a regular size auto battery. I had to strip back the outer jacket to get enough spread between them to attach them to the battery cables. On the positive side the flow volume was OK for changing ATF thru the dip stick tube. It took about 3 or 4 minutes to pump about 3-4 pints of ATF.
