I fill the water to above actual cube level, then tip the tray gently back and forth to fill the individual cubes to full. We had been using the silicone ones for a year and 1/2 after we our last counter top ice maker quit working. They were ok for a while but it got harder and harder to get the ice cubes out. These trays you barely and I mean barely twist and ALL of them come right on out. They are also larger cubes as well.
