TRESemmé Hair Tongs | Salon Curls | 16mm | 185c Dual V

I have had problems keeping a curl in my hair, i've tried various ways with no use and curls drop out within a hour. I thought I would try these and at such a cheap price I didn't feel I would waste too much money not thinking they would be any good. Now I must admit a have fine hair, so I did use a thickening spray when drying my hair, then I used VO5 heat protecting spray, and they the curling tongues. I have just above the shoulder hair length. My hair immediately curled lovely. I didn't comb it through till I thought they were all cold, then combed it with my fingers. The effect was absolutely brilliant. I had curls all over and my hair looked so thick. I did this about 11am and kept checking all through the day thinking it would be dropped out soon, but I went to bed with curly hair and there was even some bits curly in the morning. I am so impressed. It didn't even take long to do. The only thing that I got annoyed with was every time I had done with curl I had to put them down to get the next bit of hair, and so you have hair in one hand, pick the tongues up with the other hand, but you have got to bend the stand back too. It was ok it was just a case of manage.

Excellent straighteners easy to use.

This is what I call an “old school” curling iron, and if you’ve had a favorite curling iron from more than 10 years ago you’ll know what I mean. It just seems to work better. It’s a single temp, so just and on/off switch. It’s the perfect barrel size for short hair! The outer clamp is perfect for getting the right styling- no fuss with a glove and that. I have shorter naturally curly hair (3a or 3b) and this is the exact shape I’ve been looking for. It’s a great price! The only downsides are 1) the cord is shorter than you’d think, and 2) it’s cheaply put together. While the heating element punches well above its price point, the materials that hold it together are fragile. I’ve dropped it a few times, it breaks into a bunch a pieces, I wait for it to cool, and put it back together. Even despite that, it’s still my favourite vorite curling iron.

Very good value for money

Really good product. I only returned it as i wanted a bigger curl so needed a larger barrel. This particular size is good if you wanted smaller, tighter curls, maybe for fringes or sides.
