Human in-ear thermometers do not work because of the anatomy of a dog/cat ear canal is different from humans. I purchased this thermometer based on the reviews. I am happy with this thermometer. This will help me monitor my pets when they seem like they aren't feeling too good. It's not often, but when it does happen it's nice to have the right tools.

I am very disappointed the temperature monitor is not functioning properly. My vet confirmed this keeps giving lower then the average dog temperature readings, when clearly the dog had a fever!!

I never even knew there was a digital thermometer for pets. My pup had surgery earlier this year to remove melanoma from her head. It was a good sized lump and thankfully the surgeon thinks they got it all but I have been on high alert with her to make sure she stays well. I wanted to get a thermometer to monitor her temperature as usually that seems to be the 1st sign something isnt right. This one got missorted in the mail but arrived a few days later which was awesome. It seems to be just a traditional digital thermometer but reads pretty accurately. I brought it to her last vet appointment and performed a test. This is a very nice tool to have on hand if you are a pet owner. Normally the only way to get a pets temp is rectally and well who wants to do all that. Not me thats for sure. I was happy to see this also included 4 AAA batteries it only takes 2 batteries at a time so the extra 2 I will keep in the box.

If you wanna dog the thermometer, this is the one to get it’s accurate. I’ve actually used mine on the dog. It’s the same but this hair does really good give or take 1° off but it is. It’s the closest I’ve had yet. I’ll stick with this one.

Works as it should

It doesn't provide accurate temperature readings for cats. It works fine in humans, but it doesn't register cats correctly.

This thermometer is particularly useful for newborn and older puppies. It's quick and accurate.
