These are great little room fresheners! I use regular Damprid to help absorb moisture in bathrooms and closets and have been a big fan since I first learned about them in property management. I'm not sure that this freshener impacts moisture like the other Damprid does but it definitely works for making a room smell good! This uses carbon to soak up any foul smells, lol, and leaves a nice Lavender Vanilla smell in its' place. It's soft enough that you don't notice it like a candle or glade plug-in, unless you put your nose up to it. Even then it's not too sweet and my husband agrees, it's quite pleasant. I try to stretch them out a bit by cutting the top sticker in half and for the first few weeks only exposing the filter half way. When that side has begun to try out, then I'll remove some more or the rest of the sticker, depending on how strongly I want to use it next. Haha, this works well for us anyway. These usually last around six-plus weeks and I have a tendency to move them around, haha... A week in the closet where our hampers sit, a week under the kitchen sink where the trash sits, a week under the driver's seat, etc. It eliminates any stale smells and the fresh smell lasts longer than the usual car freshener, even after it's been removed. Small investment for a lot of smell good, in my book. Smile. Highly recommended. Uploading a couple photos to give you an idea of size and more info. Hope this helps!

I live in a house with a few other roommates, and had a friend in the middle of a big life changing situation move into our living room as they went through the housing search process. While I adore this friend, she smokes and I am extremely sensitive to the smell. (Note: she does not smoke in the house but outside on the back patio) I ordered this Odor Genie out of desperation one night after I had been sick because of the smell. I was worried it would turn out to be an impulse purchase but it has worked wonders! I have it in my room hiding behind some decor on a shelf and you can’t even see it but the smell has disappeared from my room. Yay!

I have these in small rooms, around litter boxes or in areas that need a good odor absorber. They have a light refreshing smell and last for at least a month! They work great in laundry rooms, closets, around stinky shoes or dirty laundry or kitty boxes! Once they dry up, just pinch them and put out another one.

I pulled off the top label before use as it instructs. It doesn’t give off a strong scent at all. It’s quite a subtle lavender scent. To me, it smells good because I enjoy that lavender scent. I put in my bathroom, which doesn’t have a vent or fan. I can tell that it reduces the mustiness a bit, but it doesn’t eliminate smells. It might reduce it a bit. However, I was hoping it would do what it says and eliminate smells completely. But, it hasn’t yet. It also has a large base and is wide, so it takes up a lot of counter space. It wasn’t that expensive so I guess it’s alright since the scent is nice and subtle.

Honestly I've been having this for 7 months and it still helps. I use this in my sons' closet that I keep cracked open all the time. It had a horrible musky smell that never went away until I bought this. I didn't peel the sticker off completely, just slowly peeled back a little at a time. It has been a few months since the sticker has been fully peeled back and it still smells!! It literally saved my sanity because I couldn't stand that musky smell. I don't think it would work for a large room, but for a medium sized closet that's cracked open in a smaller bedroom it works great.

••I’d like to add on these are best for small areas where you want to eliminate odor. This is my 2nd purchase of DampRid Odor Genie. I was impressed with the scent & odor elimination that I noticed. I put one in my car & one in my bathroom. As you can see from my picture it’s the “charcoal” within which absorbs odors & moisture. One will last about a month I’d say. I did notice it works best in smaller areas. I took advantage of amazon’s subscribe & save which is convenient for future purchases plus there is a cost savings. I’d say it’s worth a try.

Amazing product, I found one left in a truck. I started using it myself and it's been smelling great for months now. I can't remember exactly how long it's been working and since I am not sure, lets just say, way more than 60 days. My search for car and bath freshener is over. I've tried them all and they all last a day, a week at the most. Total rip offs. You get what you pay for and a whole lot more with Odor Genie. Revision: Not sure whats going on here. However; I bought 3 more of this product opened and placed one in my bathroom and nada, zip, nothing, no smell at all. Your guess is as good as mine. I will place it in a car and see what it does. I stand by my original review based on the first one that was used, yup that one still smells great! The only way you can smell a thing from this new one is to bury your nose in it. Quality control issue? Who knows I have 2 more different sents on the way before I change my star rating, lets see if they work.

I live full time in an RV, and always have one of these opened in the rig. Small spaces get stinky super quick. I can not stand the smell of household plug ins and just needed something to keep the shoe and trash stink down. These are my go to! They last easily for 3 to 4 months, do not have a strong masking order and keep the rig smelling like a house and not a perfume store. I've been using them for years now. I tried a different brand once and did not get the same results as I did with these. I like the lavender, but have zero problems with the others. If I ever decide to move into a house, I'll use em there too.

Very good buy

Waste of money. Totally ineffective in any space - big or small. I have 4 deployed in rooms, within the recommended sizes. Not one of them smells any different than before.

These definitely work to remove odours. Our gas lift bed smelled damp from the moment it was delivered & I had tried everything (even had the bed replaced) these were the only thing that removed the damp smell from the bed. I have used them for many years on a house that is mostly closed up & can smell stagnant, so these do make a difference. They can smell strong for the first couple of days but will reduce the stong scent thereafter. Highly recommend using them!
