It is very useful, however in my opinion, this will NOT hold #400. I don't need it to hold that much weight, but if you say it will....it better.Others have complemented about the stool breaking, and I can see that happening quit easily.I'm 6'4" and am #250 and I feel that is about as much weight as I would trust on it. It is stable, but I would not trust it to spend an extended amount of time on it...ie: painting trim, working overhead etc....That being said, I DO use it a lot as a stool to sit on while doing low projects due to my bad knees. Because of it being so light weight, and folding down to practically nothing, it is super easy to carry with me along with my tool bag to do projects around the house. I also use it while working in the vegetable garden as well. All in all for my needs using it more as a portable seat, it works very well. I would still be very suspicious of the Max. weight limit, and time will tell as to how it will hold up.

I use this stool as a home health nurse to avoid sitting or setting my work bag on the patient's furniture. It is very sturdy, stylish and folds easily into a thin pop out stool.
