Unbreakable. Buy one for yourself and one for a friend.
This Is a beautiful piece of work. Nothing is wasted. Its spare and elegant, but has a heft and and a serviceable edge that makes me sure this knife will last for years. the handle pieces are flush to the full tang blade and everything feels well made. No burrs, no flaws. Came with a nice sharp edge too. The sheath was a worry for me because most blades I see that come with nylon sheaths are like wrapping paper, but this sheath is good and feels sturdier then i had expected. I will definitely keep an eye out for a kydex or leather sheath but this one is perfectly serviceable. The blade really does feel unbreakable.

Excellent knife, build to last.
Update: May 26 2019 I've being using this knife for two years now, the knife is just fantastic, just a few scratches on the anti rust coated. New pic attached April/2017 I got my knife today, it is an excellent pice, made in the People's Republic of China (P.R.C.), I give 4 stars because Hoffman Ritcher says its made of 440C steel, but in the blade says just 440, I like the knife, it came very sharp, I tested cutting a piece of paper, cut it like butter. It is not as perfect as my spanish knife, but is really good for the half of price. The sheath looks a little weak on the advertise, but actually is strong and well made, vertical position only. It came with a little defect on the handle, but is ok for me, good quality knife Blade 4.25" X 1 3/8", 3/16" thick total 9"

Good knife, Not good sheath.
I gave this 4 stars because I really like this knife, with some important caveats. If you are judging from the price, you would be correct in assuming that this is not a high end knife. But it is good sized, beefy (heavy), and they are right, I'd consider this unbreakable (unless you're really trying way too hard). At 5.5 mm (over 3/16" to us Americans) it is seriously thick; perhaps unnecessarily thick for a blade this length. Such a thickness would not be out of place on blades even 3 times this 4 inch length. But I don't mean that as a criticism; I like it. I like the styling of this knife, though it is not very original. It feels good in my hand and I consider it a good inexpensive addition to my collection. While it's heavy, I'd have no qualms carrying this in my pack for a wilderness camp trip. When it arrived, I was surprised to find it came not only with the nylon sheath pictured here, but with a well made kydex sheath as well. Unfortunately, the kydex sheath does not hold the knife securely, so no matter how well the sheath is made, it is useless. The problem is that the finger guard on the knife does not click past the nubs inside in the sheath meant to hold it in. If it went just a millimeter deeper into the sheath, or if those nubs were just a millimeter higher, it would be great. But it doesn't. I like the sheath so I am considering ways to modify it to work. Which I kind of have to do because the nylon sheath it comes with is REALLY cheap and badly made. It works, but I have serious doubts about how long it will last under normal use. The blade was not very sharp when it arrived. That was easily enough remedied. I got it shaving sharp quick enough. But just a few days later it seemed to have dulled after really just a little use cutting some raw chicken. A more thorough run at sharpening and it's back to shaving and I think holding it's edge better now. I will update later if I see any problem. Overall, this is a good knife for the money. I'm not thrilled about the sheaths I got; I will have to find another solution if I'm going to put this knife to real work.

I did like one other reviewer suggested
I did like one other reviewer suggested, and bought a second for a friend when I ordered mine (bought both during a price drop to $19.95 that I haven't seen repeated since, current price is $34.95). I stuck a penny on the gift box to not "cut the friendship" as the folklore says.... Knife is rugged, takes and holds a decent edge, and is pretty heavy/hefty (341 grams/12 oz on my scale). Even though it's a good looking blade (scales look/feel better in person than they look in the pics to me) the durability and heft of it has had me beating it up more than babying it (concrete work, etc). Some of the finish has scratched off the blade, but a good cleaning and oiling brought back most of the luster. Recommended, good knife that I'm not afraid of ruining.

The best fixed blade knife I have ever owned
The Wolf is a very substantial, well made knife. It is balanced very well and is heavy enough to be used for many different operations. It is very sharp out of the box but it can also take an additional edge which will give you shaving quality . A very good and useful camping essential at an excellent price.

Outstanding Knife!
This knife is bad to the bone, and razor sharp! Strong, hefty, and a lifetime guaranty! Some reviews complained about the bonus plastic sheath. Simple fix: Take a small piece of velcro, (fuzzy side) with glue backing. Simply put it in the top back side of sheath, and the knife locks in perfectly!!!

This Knife Is SOLID
This is my first Hoffman Richter knife. For $30 it looked like a good deal and when it arrived it was obvious this knife is a great value. The Wolf is a beast of a knife. I have never handled a knife of this size that weighs even half as much as the Wolf. Very solid construction and the blade is high quality steel. This knife is very noticeable when you have it on your hip because of the weight. Personally, that is my favorite thing about it. Great buy but if you are looking for something you can toss on a belt and forget about the Wolf is not for you.

Not extremely impressed
Took it out and put it through some tests; chopping, batoning, etc. Overall it performed well. However, the blade chipped, and was damaged after I carelessly was batoning on a rock, and then I accidentally dropped it and it hit a rock, but it still continued to perform. Holding the knife feels great; it feels solid, and it can really do some damage. But when you actually start to work with this knife it gets uncomfortable in your hand, which is obvious considering the weight and un-ergonomically shaped handle. I gave this knife a good solid beating out in the woods, and I was never worried about it breaking, but swinging it around wore me out more than other knives I own. I don't think this knife is well suited for weekend-long/multi-day trips into the wilderness. Will not bring it camping with me again. Also the hex screws on that keep the handle on constantly come loose and need retightening.
