Great kit for learning about magnetism and electricity. Presents easy to construct mini project to understand critical concepts... all in all... kept the kids busy and they actually seemed to enjoy it... would recommend.

The kit arrived in good condition. There are a lot of things I like about it and I think it's well-designed. The panel meters are gorgeous and big, just as you would want them if you're trying to excite young minds. Overall, the components and wiring technology are well-chosen for letting kids "see" the circuits they're working with. I really like how the bell ringer comes apart so you can use its electromagnet separately. Some components are made a little cheaply, as might be expected at this price point. The knife switches look flimsy but they work fine. The ringer for the bell didn't quite reach the bell, so I had to bend it into shape with pliers. The kit says it comes with 3 3V lamps and 3 2.5V lamps, but there is no way to tell which bulb is for which voltage. One of the bulbs that came with the kit was non-functional. I was surprised that the ammeter, on the 0.6A scale, seems to have a resistance as high as 2 ohms or so. The voltage drop across that resistance can really affect the operation of circuits when the ammeter is inserted. The instructions are pretty reasonable for a lot of the experiments but the level is definitely uneven. If you already understand electricity, you'll easily be able to know what to do and how to explain it, but otherwise in some cases you may be a little mystified. Also, there is a piece with two LEDs in it that is never used in any experiments. I found that one of the LEDs is red (with a forward voltage of about 1.9 volts) and the other is blue (with a forward voltage a little over 3 volts).

It's only an ok deal for 50 bucks considering what you get. That said, it come with a number of neat devices for a child to wire up. The bell, and open frame motor are favorites of my toddler. The bell is great in that it is NOT a legit bell. I had a real one when I was a kid and it was absolutely deafening. This one is much more pleasant. The storage box is actually usable. If you throw away the internal tray, everything fits without perfect placement. Overall we're happy with it. If you buy some alligator clips as well, it's easy to incorporate random electrical parts from around the house (motors, leds and such).

Bought the kit to teach some science at home, a few of the lightbulbs were burnt out when I received it. Contacted the company’s customer service, and they replaced it without hesitation. There are numerous pieces, a great array of types of experiments, and a comprehensive instruction manual. The only thing that I would want to change is the size of the example photos. Those are a little difficult to discern at times.

Provides all the essentials to explore electricity without getting electrocuted! Contains multiple ways to generate electricity, Multiple ways to use electricity with the Direct Current (DC), Permanent Magnet (PM) Motor having all of its parts visible, wires to carry the generated electricity to the devices that run on electricity (called the electrical loads, or loads for short) and a neat booklet illustrating various activities. Also contains two very hard to find d'Arsonval meters, one an ammeter and one a voltmeter. Both have 2 select able ranges to accommodate voltages from 1.5 volts to 4.5 volts and associated currents. Great way to provide children and adults with an intuitive knowledge of electricity.

Great if you know about electricity but need better instructions and explanations. Still fun very fun.

Bought for my grandson to help decide what he wants to explore in future schooling.....it will either make him or break him lol. Nice kit and plenty of opportunity to learn!

I got this for my grandkids. So far, I had a couple of sessions with my 9-year-old granddaughter. I think any head start kids have on this is great. All the parts were there and functional. Everything is open for understanding what's going on. The lessons are great.

Es un excelente regalo para niñ@s con interés en la electrónica. El kit está muy completo y es de buena calidad. Ideal para niñ@s porque las piezas son resistentes y están pensadas para que se pueda conectar y desconectar varias veces sin que se venzan. El maletín en el que viene el kit es perfecto para mantener las cosas guardadas y no se pierdan pero también para transportarlo. El manual está muy completo pero de fácil comprensión (viene en inglés). Mi hijo está encantado. No viene con pilas, hay que comprarlas aparte.
