Update -- I changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars. With the latest updates it's working really well. I'd still like to have more flexibility setting schedules and hope that'll be included in a future update. The positives: - Very easy to install. All three connected to my router with none of the issues described in many other reviews. - No problem using them with both Siri/Apple Home and Alexa/Echo. - Intuitive user interface - The iPhone app is generally reliable and intuitive (but not entirely...) Negatives: - There is only one set of four time periods per day that cover both heating and cooling. Because of variable electricity rates where the rate change happens at different times by season, we use different times for heating and cooling settings. This thermostat does not support that. I'm hoping for a software upgrade that allows the addition of more time periods. - There are occasional dropouts of connectivity with WiFi. So far they've re-connected on their own reasonably quickly. - The server the iPhone app connects to is occasionally unavailable and the app fails. This happens more frequently than seems reasonable. - The iPhone app does not refresh very quickly and there seems to be no way to manually refresh (by pulling down and releasing for instance). It's hard to tell it hasn't refreshed because it seems to behave normally. The only way I've found to force it to refresh is to kill and restart the app. - Occasionally I make a change on the app and it seems to accept it, but then it reverses to the original setting. There is no indication that a commanded change has or has not been accepted by the device.

I ordered my Honeywell RCHT8610WF2006 Lyric T5 Wi-Fi Smart 7 Day Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat, via Amazon Prime ($107.99 + tax + FREE shipping) on 8/15. I promptly received it 2 days later, as promised. Frankly, you can't ask for anything better than that! After turning off the circuit breaker to my air handling unit, I removed the old thermostat and its mounting plate and photographed my original thermostat's wiring scheme, As my home had more than sufficient wires available for use, installation of the Lyric T5 was a breeze following the included instructions. Once installed, and upon resetting the circuit breaker, the T5 immediately powered on and displayed "Honeywell", followed by "Start Setup". Setting up the device was a simple process, thanks again to the provided concise instructions. After choosing the option of using the (previously installed) Lyric cell phone app to complete the setup, all steps were clear and easy to follow. Note that it's important to know what type of heating your residence uses. After a quick call to my "A/C guy" and with answers in hand (heat pump & air-to-air), I was able to complete the T5 setup in a matter of minutes. Connection of the thermostat to my home network was established without issue...it was practically automatic. With the T5 setup completed, customizing the cooling/heating controls to our liking was simple. While in the end we elected not to activate the Geofence mode, I may decide to do that in the future. If so, I'll update this review at that time. In closing, I find the Honeywell Lyric T5 Smart Thermostat to be an extremely capable and cost-effective product. It's an attractive device that is simple to install and easy to setup. If my initial experience is any indication regarding the quality of this WiFi thermostat, whether it will perform as advertised only time will tell. For now, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

I was a little hesitant about buying this product after reading some of the negative reviews about wi-fi connectivity, but am very glad I did. The installation instructions are detailed and very clear. I had no problem with connecting to our wi-fi network and the Honeywell app worked very well on my iPhone. It did take a bit of time to complete some of the steps, but I think that has to do with a small microprocessor. There's a nice feature in the menu on the app that lets you add other users very quickly, so my wife has her own account and can control the thermostat with her phone. I didn't set up geo-fencing because it seems a bit impractical unless you live alone or commute together, though I imagine you can override it if you're the one at home. It comes with screws and drywall mounts and if I did it again I'd have drilled a pilot hole to see what was behind the sheetrock. Turned out the contractor put a board between the studs and I didn't really need the drywall mounts. It's really nice to be able to control the thermostat with a phone. Pre-pandemic at our old house we had one that had phone control and were on a February trip to the Yucatan peninsula. Warm and sunny and snowing in Portland. Bumped the temperature up on a layover and the house was toasty when we walked in the door. So far I've only used this one when I wake up before "Awake" on the schedule, but it's nice to turn up the temperature from under the covers. Plus, it's got a nice, clean minimalist look to it.

Works great, Lyric app clean and simple, absolutely love geofencing capability. Have older furnace (no C-wire), Googled my furnace wiring diagram; repurposed the G-wire - reviewed YouTube: Honeywell DIY Wi-Fi Thermostat Substitute G-Wire for C-Wire-- US and Canada | Training | Honeywell; install was a breeze; confirmed A/C and furnace worked as they should. 2.4G WiFi required. Fahrenheit only choice at setup, after a period of time device will download an update upgrading capabilities including Celsius. Setup geofencing on two phones; if one outside boundary, unit follows "Home" schedule; if both outside boundary, unit switches to "Away" settings. Works with Apple HomeKit.

Excelente producto, funciona muy bien e increíble relación calidad-precio, tiene muchas funcionalidades como uso con Siri, que otros productos (incluso de la misma marca) no tienen. La instalación es super fácil, si ya tienes cableado con otro termostato hay que asegurarse que tenga el cable C. Yo instale el termostato desde la calefacción y solo necesite comprar cable eléctrico que tenía 6 cables de colores dentro. Muy muy fácil de instalar. La programación también es muy fácil. Si eres de México hay que poner en país a EUA para que te permita configurarlo pero al terminar la configuración, cambiar el país a México y ya te permite poner tu dirección para que veas la temperatura exterior. Excelente compra.

This product is rubbish. The wifi constantly disconnects making the device disappear from the app and from homekit. The worst problem is that the device will not accept wifi keys with special characters in it. Difficult to set up, unreliable networking. Keep clear of this guys!
