The High John Root herb is very popular among African-American mystical folklore and hoodoo magick, typically used for its ability to increase a person’s power over others or their field and to gain good fortune. The High John Root derives its name from John the Conqueror, a trickster who was enslaved in America but whose wit prevented him from being subservient to anyone. As such, High John Root is said to help people overcome their obstacles and find creative ways to resolve their problems, thus gaining power over competition or enemies. The High John Root is also known for inviting prosperity and good luck in one’s life, whether in gambling or increasing financial income. This is my first time ordering High John from this company but it definitely will not be the last. I ordered the 1oz package to try because I had seen the reviews that claimed their order was light and that they only got one giant piece. Obviously in conjure work you want several smaller pieces as this root is very hard to cut….plus, should we cut it? I don’t think that would be in good practice. Maybe it’s just me. Either way, I wanted to test it out and see for myself before buying the larger package. I am beyond thrilled with what I received! It weighed more than it was supposed to. As you can see from my photo’s, they could have left out a couple small pieces and still met weight. My scales were just calibrated a few days ago so I’m sure of the weight. That tells me something about this company’s values and ethics. The root itself is high quality. Mmm, that beautiful Smokey aroma! The smell of High John has always been calming to me. But I’ve gotten some in the past that just smelled like….nothing, maybe slightly dirt like. So I was definitely pleased to open this package and instantly smell that wonderful aroma. I’d give more stars if possible. Order was fast, don’t quote me but I believe it arrived a day early. Might just be desertcarts efficiency but the company had to have had it packaged and ready to go for desertcart to be able to fulfill the order so quickly. So they have my trust and I’ll be browsing the rest of their inventory soon as I’ve already seen a few things on their page that I need, they will be tasked with keeping my cabinets filled from here on. I was completely pleased with all the small pieces I recieved and even the ground up dust left in the bag because that will be used too. And, I did get 3 good size pieces that are big enough to keep on my altar, while attaching one to the high John effigy I have. I have plenty for my needs. I will definitely order again!

Perfect for what I want it for!

AMAZING High John the Conqueror
Very high quality root. You can feel the power in it just by holding it in your hand. A commanding flush of energy will fill you. Have purchased 1 oz and received 4 roots, one was small enough to cram into a 4oz amber bottle for High John Oil. I plan to use one for an alcohol extract to use on clothing and paper, another to carry with me on my person at work, and the last during ritual spellwork. I will indeed be buying more when needed. Thank you to this great seller for very affordable and high quality High John the Conqueror root!

Great quantity!
Fabulous! Compared to other vendors versus price, you get so much more. Most roots are either medium or small in size, but there's a decent amount so it makes up for it. Will be buying again!

Nice chunks
I guess they work. Not sure though. Got arrested & had one in my bag and the police thought they were dubbies ( or turds) lol! I got out 12 hours later. For some strange reasons after the police officers touched all over each on trying to determine what it was, they began to treat me better. They looked it up after I told them to see what it was. Maybe they thought I was a WITCH.
