## Description

3M Performance Plus Wire Connector T/R+ is a UL Listed and CSA Certified electrical spring connector perfect for connecting two or more conductor ends in pigtail applications. The connector insulates and connects a wire range from 22-8 AWG solid and or stranded copper conductors. This product is rated for use as a Pressure Wire Connector with a UL Listing of UL Standard 486C, UL File No. E23438 and CSA Certification of CSA Standard C22.2 No. 188-M1983, CSA File No. LR15503. For a secure connection, rely on the 3M Performance Plus Wire Connector T/R+. 3M Performance Plus Wire Connectors are designed with a uniquely flexible spring that has generous room for expansion and a strong bite for a secure connection. Because of their increased wire range, just three Performance Plus wire connectors handle the work of eight standard connectors. And the flexible skirt helps prevent copper exposure for enhanced safety. 3M Performance Plus Wire Connectors are UL Listed for 600 volts on copper wire. They are available in five color/wire range options: O/B+ (orange/blue) 2 #22 - 3 #12 AWG; T/Y+ (tan/yellow) 2 #22 - 3 #12 AWG; R/Y+ (red/yellow) 2 #18 - 2 #8 AWG; T/R+ (tan/red) 2 #18 - 5 #12 AWG; B/G+ (blue/gray) 4 #14 - 2 #6 AWG.

Review: I am sold on these 3M wire nuts - a comparison with other brands - I was turned on to these 3M wire nuts by a professional electrician I had hired for a job. They are by far the best wire nuts I have ever used. They can handle a huge range of wire sizes and number of conductors. My understanding is that the spiral inside of them has space to expand out which is partly what allows them to handle such a range of sizes. This evening I was showing them to a friend and I decided to demonstrate how they were built to him by cutting one apart. This resulted in me damaging my wire shears and not successfully cutting apart the wire nut! These things are built with some tough steel! So the attached picture has a 3M wire nut on the left, an Ideal wire nut in the middle and some cheap piece of junk that came with a light on the right. (both of the latter I dug out of the bottom of my tool bag from previous jobs, so I can’t say if that Ideal wire nut is a modern one or not) This has solidified in my mind which wire nuts are the best.

**Q: Are these wire nuts rated for low voltage outdoor wiring when paired with No-Ox?**
A: You could use it but they don’t have the silicone inside it so they’re not water proof.

I was turned on to these 3M wire nuts by a professional electrician I had hired for a job. They are by far the best wire nuts I have ever used. They can handle a huge range of wire sizes and number of conductors. My understanding is that the spiral inside of them has space to expand out which is partly what allows them to handle such a range of sizes.
