I'm a huge fan of Holy Stone drones and am always eager to try out their latest and greatest releases. What struck me about this drone was how compact and light it was. I have to say I was a little how unsure how it would handle windy conditions considering how light it was, but was pleasantly surprised with how much power it has. It ascends and moves around very fast and is agile in the air. It doesn't use the Ophelia GO app like many other Holy Stone drones, instead opting for its own HS GPS V5 app, which works in a very similar way. I found the app easy to use and intuitive. If you've used the Ophelia app before, you'll know you're way around it for sure. The camera is 4k, but doesn't have any sort of gimbal or EIS, so certainly not the best choice for any serious drone videographer, but good enough for stills and for the FPV element which works well. Overall, I was very impressed with the drone. It's a lot of fun to fly, and 2.5 hours to charge the batteries for around 45 mins of flying isn't bad at all. Another excellent product from Holy Stone! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ High quality drone, with great images *by A***R on 1 November 2024* This was bought by my teenage son. It is easy to control, very stable. It has the ability to set distance boundaries so it can't go too far whilst you are learning to use it, or if letting someone else have control. The controller connects with a smart phone, although it's not compatible with all models. For example it isn't compatible with my son's Motorola e20 but is compatible with my Motorola 30. This could have been a showstopper, so worth checking before purchase. The camera and video quality are excellent, and work most of the time, although very occasionally we lose the video connection and need to restart the app. The drone controller has an excellent "Return to Home" feature that stops that being too much of an issue on the rare occasions it happens. We have had one problem where we lost the link and live video feed on the phone app, and the drone failed to come home. We have no idea what happened. It look 2 hours to locate the drone in a bush, not far from it's last known gps coordinates. (It sends back tracking information to the phone, so you can see it on a map in the app). Once back, it is all working fine but my son is now nervous about it happening again.
