Great quality, easy to use!
Recently bought this for our one year old after weeks of researching rotating convertible car seats, and I’m glad we chose this! Prior to this, we used a Nuna infant carrier. We chose this over staying with Nuna due to their comparable model only having a 40lb max. It was fairly easy to install. I wanted a car seat that can turn because I’m not very tall and I drive a Tahoe so it’s already a struggle to get our son in the car. He’s also a sweaty lil one so I like that it has the cooling material. Overall it feels high quality, comfortable, sturdy, safe, and fits well in the back captain seat. It wasn’t too heavy to pick up to install it. He also seems to love it and doesn’t throw fits getting in the car seat anymore. The turning feature is a life saver and game changer! It turns very smooth. The only con I can think of is the lack of transition to a booster but I’ll cross that bridge when we get there. We got this one sale for 25% off, but even if we hadn’t I think it’s still worth the price.

Great Car Seat!
I’m not sure why this car seat is flagged as frequently returned because that is not my experience. We purchased this car seat well over a year ago and love it. It’s is very comfortable and roomy for our son. He is now 2 years old and fits so great in it. The rotation feature always works well and has been so convenient, especially now that I’m pregnant again and don’t have to climb in the car to get him in and out. The only downside is probably the size/heaviness, as it is a larger/bulkier car seat. Besides moving it from our car to my husbands, the size has never been a concern for us. We even took it on an airplane and had no issue traveling with it. I choose this car seat initially because it looked comfortable for our son and the rotation was convenient for all of us. It has not disappointed us.

Back saver!
I spent countless hours researching rotating car seats. None of them seemed perfect to me. I wanted a car seat that has a high weight limit and can rotate in both forward and rear-facing positions. I tried the City Turn and the Evenflo Gold in my car, and while the Evenflo does have a high weight limit and rotates in both positions, I didn't like that the seat felt a bit wobbly (though I'm sure it's safe, having passed the safety tests) and the seat seemed to slant up quite steeply, which made my kiddo look like he was seated with his butt pretty low, legs sticking up at a sharp angle. Although the City Turn does not rotate when in the forward-facing position, the materials and overall build felt like higher quality to me, and I decided to let go of the forward-facing rotation capability. I imagine that by the time I turn my kiddo forward-facing, he'll be able to climb in himself, and all I'll have to do is tighten the belt. All that said, I am extremely pleased with the City Turn. I have recurring back problems and the rotation makes getting him in/out of the car nearly pain-free. The seat is cushy and he looks comfy in there. The belt tightens smoothly. The install was relatively straightforward after I watched a video. If you're considering a rotating car seat, do it!

GREAT car seat
The most amazing car seat in the world honestly. Easy to install. Easy to adjust. Great design! Turns left and right so you dont have to uncomfortably get into the car with your baby when you’re putting them in the car. On rainy days I can sit in the backseat and strap the baby in easily. So much better on our back. Very safe and easy to adjust straps on the baby. Cup holder is convenient. Has some weight to it which makes me feel like it’s durable. Spot clean or remove lining and wash. Recommend to others!

Best Car Seat
Best purchase ever!! Bought this to use in my vehicle for when I pick up our granddaughter. I'm a Nana, and getting my granddaughter in and out of a stationary car seat when they face backwards is challenging, to say the least. But, when I saw this swiveling car seat I knew I had to purchase. I'm so glad I did!! So easy and convenient to push the lever and it swings to where you need it. The car seat is secure, padded, and adjustable. Best car seat ever. And, we can still use it when she becomes front facing. Great purchase.

Easy to use for parents and comfortable for the
Really good car seat - very comfortable and easy to use. The rotation feature is very smooth with the button at the center and allows you to rotate with a one hand movement while holding your little one. Few more nice additions - also has a clicking feature, where the car seat clicks, once its in the right location and a cup holder for drinks

Over-priced but the only one of its kind
The chair fabric feels great, very smooth, light, feels almost like merino wool. As well, the position of the chair when rotated is high and well positioned, definitely making it easier to take your baby out or put baby in. Some complain about having to rotate chair back as a result, but the benefits of the position warrant a little care with rotating back. Plus, when I rotate back after taking baby out, I only rotate enough to close the door, not to relock at center, so when I open door to put baby back, I can just grab chair anywhere to rotate to position to put baby back in. So it's pretty easy. The rotation is smooth and secure, and the chair doesn't have much slack in center locked position. Chair was also very easy to install, since its high protruding base makes it easy to properly tension either the seat belt or anchor belts tightly. What we didn't like were the cheap light plastic of the middle buckle, the light duty groin buckle, and the impossibility of fixing the fabric tab covering the groin buckle in place. Also it's impossible to keep the belt off to the sides when trying to insert baby, so you will always be pulling and looking for the belt behind baby. Last, lack of swivel adjustment unless you remove the seat. Though it has 3 angles, only 1 was usable for 15 month baby. The others would give baby zero leg room. So all in all, as a car seat, the lackluster hardware for the price is unfortunate. (Our Uppababy Mesa and a Cybex Sirona S both had superior buckles, groin buckle fabric tab, and a way to hold the belt open when placing/removing baby.) However, the ease of secure install and the way the seat rotates out makes the seat truly more convenient to use as I can stand erect outside the door to put baby in and out. (The Cybex Sirona S, for comparison with similar rotating seats, still require you to bow your head to fit inside car to seat/unseat baby.) If the hardware were as well designed and built as similarly priced car seats, and it would be so simple to do so, this City Turn would be the top top pick. It's compact, light weight, easy to install, easy to rotate, actually convenient to use. We just wished it had the hardware as the Sirona S. (But no forget the Sirona, that's a disaster in design, not worth your time even trying it.)

Why I chose this seat and why I am happy that I did.
Let me preface this with I'm an engineer and tend to obsess a bit about car seats. Particularly, safety. While I don't work in the car seat industry, my understanding of physics and manufacturing makes me a bit less likely to blindly trust anything on the market (despite it being legal for sale). I knew I wanted a rotating seat for my baby but I did approach it with caution (more moving parts = more things that can go wrong). This is my 2nd child and my experience with my first was that buckling a squirming toddler in a car is a full contact sport!! I figured a rotating seat would help me to buckle baby in properly every time without breaking my back. I researched crash ratings and quality concerns with all of the competition. I used baby lab data and read reviews from every seat. Although this seat only rotates in the rear face mode, others like evenflo (thst rotate both ways) seem to have some complaints of detaching during an accident (very limited info though). For me, a higher quality seat is a must. You generally get what you pay for! This seat certainly is evidence of that. It is just well designed and well made. My baby is extremely comfortable and I feel great about her sitting in it for long trips. Per crash ratings, this seat scores VERY well. I should note, it does NOT have a rebound bar, but I think in this case it's not needed because crash ratings exceed seats that do. Also, this seat is very easy to install. Having had 2 kids, I've installed many car seats and this one is really smooth. If you do it properly, it will be very rock solid tight and secure. Since the belt path attachment sits kind of high, I just don't see how it could "rebound" if the install is done well. The way it is designed, I think any rotational crash forces will be counteracted easily by the steel frame and the base sitting proud against the car seat back. Other things I love about this seat are the high quality materials and high rear face weight limit. My daughter will probably be 5 by the time I forward face. By that point, I don't think we will need a rotating feature on a seat. I give this seat 5/5 stars, but I do want to point out a few things that I think could be better: 1. Tightening the straps is pretty tricky. I wish it was smoother. 2. This will be common in most higher end seats, but if you have long legs, you might get some interference with the seat back and car seat. The seat is tall and when reclined it might be a problem. It just barely makes it in my Linclon Aviator (captians chair) 3. I really wish you could pin the straps to the sides when the seat is not in use. Its kind of annoying to fish them oht every time and even most cheap seats have magnets or clips to keep them ready for buckling baby in. Overall, I would 100% recommend this seat and we will be buying a second for our other car. Quality is worth the price!
