Ambassadeur C4 Baitcast Round Fishing Reel

Excellent reel. My first time trying a baitcasting reel, but it performed flawlessly. Casting is very smooth. Line retrieve is also superb. First time out - caught a 14lb blue catfish. Boy was I happy. Came home and ordered another one.

Great reel, I can really get some great distance with it. Love the clicker which is only on the 6000 series I believe. Should be on all of them. 6001 has the handle on the left.

The Abu Garcia Ambassaduer.. This reel is awesome! The retrieve is smooth. Casting is really smooth too. Line capacity is amazing (mine is backed with 30lb braid to 14lb fluoro now). I took mine to Venice Pier, and was able to break it in with this little leopard shark. I think this reel is for someone who knows how to fish with baitcasters and not so much a beginner. You can’t adjust the brakes, only the tension. It’s a little tricky but if you can find YOUR settings, you’ll enjoy this. It isn’t hard but relying only on the tension and your thumb as brakes, I honestly feel that comes from practice with the low profile baitcasters. This reel offers 15lbs of max drag. It has a clicker that you can switch on/off. The retrieve is pretty fast. One thing I would change if I could is probably the crank. I feel that it’s a little small. But that’s just because my low profile reels have an extended crank (all Abu Garcia’s). Don’t let the online photos or even mine fool the size of the reel. It’s actually a good size and you can palm it comfortably. I really like that it’s made in Sweden. Thumbs up to that.

So I decided to get one of these famous reels Sweden made right. Well so far my only issue I have found is while trying to engage the bait clicker. Sometimes it will not engage and the plastic button that slides up to ungage will start to move out of it's slide or basically pop up. I can feel it in a bind. When this happens all I have to do is pull alittle drag out and it will pop back into place. I'm sure this isn't how it should work. For the money I paid for it I would think it wouldnt have issues like this. Other than that this reel feels awesome and is very smooth retrieving and drag. Like I said I was very sad to have the issue. I use it for river catfish 50lbs plus. Part of me wishes I just bought 3 kingkast instead Might have to contact the company I guess.

Ambassador reels: I own several styles and sizes of this type of reel. I used a 6500 size on an inshore rod while fishing for yellow tail. It worked flawlessly for a number of fishing trips and fish.

I love these reels my cousin has 6 of them and I tried it and had to buy one for myself. They say if you take care of a abu they will last you for your entire life. They are nice and good designed reels and I havent had one issue out of my cousins so I had to have one.

Great product. Very smooth and great feel. Not to big and cast like a charm. First time user of a round baitcaster amd I had no problems with it at all. I would only suggest the abu garcia power handle to go with it. Definitely recommend
