Whats the difference between the 50 ft "twill weave" and normal 50 ft roll? Other than the price.

The stats on it list higher heat tolerance for the twill weave. 1800F direct for the twill and 1400 direct for the normal.

Will this work to extend the life of rusty exhaust pipes and prevent further rust?

This is a kind of fiber, not antirust paint. As a fiber, it can not insulate your pipe from the air. If it is wet, your pipe will still rust.Your know why steel rust? First 4Fe+6H2O+3O2=4Fe(OH)3 then 2Fe(OH)3=Fe2O3 + 3H2OFe2O3 is rust. So water(H2O), oxygen is the key point to cause the rust. Only insulate the surface of your pipe from water or oxygen.Your pipe will not rust anymore.
