Boils very fast
This gas hob kettle is amazing. It boils water incredibly quickly and is a great value for money. It looks fantastic too and is leak-proof and easy to clean. It even comes with a nice bag to stop rattles in your camper.

Fantastic product
Bought this to replace a regular gas camping whistling kettle...which split after 1 year even though it was prob only used for 12 weeks max as in motorhome.... This is far superior, boils quicker, takes up less room, and lighter. Only 2 observations, no whistle which we knew at time of purchase...but more importantly lid falls off when you tip it all the way up to get last bit of water out...burnt my finger twice now but will try not to do it a third time..lol..

Great little kettle!
Great little kettle! Perfect size for two mugs, so you’re not wasting gas boiling more than you need. It feels well-made and is lightweight. The fins on the bottom help direct the heat, and it really does seem to boil quickly. So far, I’m very impressed.

Small and mighty!
I converted to a hob kettle at least five years ago as I had a habit of boiling the electric kettle and forgetting about it and having to repeat the action and wasting money basically. In these high cost times changing to a hob kettle makes even more sense. I previously have been using a light weight Prima kettle and have been very happy but they don’t make a kettle smaller than 1.8 ltr capacity and most days it’s just one or two cups worth of water that needs boiling so still wasting gas and water even though I wasn’t filling the kettle up. This brought me to this little Firemaple kettle and it is tiny! 0.8 litres which it turns out is still plenty for two mugs of tea.It boils very fast and must already be saving me money. It has also made me realise just how ridiculously big most kettles are.Not many of us need to make eight cups of tea at a time on a regular basis and I don’t understand why small kettles are not easier to find. On the down side, I am used to a whistle and there isn’t one , however it boils so quickly that there’s no point leaving the room. I also want to address some common complaints about hob kettles .1. You never fill a kettle right up to the brim regardless of it going on the hob or plugging into the mains so the capacity is only a guideline to size. 2. The handle of any hob kettle will potentially get too hot to hold as the kettle sits directly on a heat sauce so use a folded tea towel or heat resistant glove to pick it up . This can be mitigated by not over boiling the kettle or having the flame too high. 3. Similarly, if the heat is too high most kettles will over time discolour on the outside along the boil line so if you want your kettle to stay pretty don’t have the heat too high. Back to the particulars of this kettle and the reason for 4stars and not 5,is the fact that the lid is very loose. Do not tilt the kettle to completely empty it while still hot or the lid will fall off. This won’t happen if you are lifting it with a cloth around the handle but is definitely something to be aware of. I am already used to using it and it’s now second nature not to pick this kettle up with bare hands but better forewarned. I love this kettle , it looks great boils quickly, saves gas , saves water and is perfect for one to two mugs of tea. One last point is the white chalky deposits on the water after boiling, it is from the water, that’s why some electric kettles have built in filters and it isn’t the kettles fault. I usually scoop it off with a teaspoon as once stirred it collects in the middle of the mug but I am sure that there are tea strainer type filters available but it doesn’t appear every time so I haven’t bought one. Enjoy.

Brilliant
Brilliant travel kettle! So easy to pour without dribbling everywhere, and boils quickly. Certainly worth paying a little extra for this rather than keep going for the usual cheap kettles from ‘Go’ing to other ‘Outdoors’ suppliers. Good value for money.

Fantastic kettle, perfect for camping. Boils quickly which saves on gas and fills two mugs with water to spare. The lid can come off when pouring so just watch out!

Dangerous, be aware
This is dangerous... please be careful. The lid does not have any way to keep it in place when pouring, so it just falls off and you risk getting badly burned. I was pretty surprised at this major flaw because other than that its a great kettle. Compact, folding handle, lightweight but good capacity and boils quickly. The handle does get very hot and the small bit of plastic on the lid is hard to move when the kettle is hot. The spout is tiny but pours well. Expensive for an item that could potentially leave you injured. How did the makers not notice this, I have to wonder if they ever tested it.
