Will the powder be effective if added to hot water, let it cool and then add to smoothies?

This would definitely work. As long as you dissolve CalMag Plus with boiling water first, then cool it down with some ice and add to your smoothie. Great idea!

Doesn’t boiling water damage the minerals?

I heat up my water in the microwave , about 1.5 inch of water , heat that water for 40 seconds, then stir in a heaping tsp if calmax & let it fizz like alka seltzer & then sit it , then I will pour in about an inch or two of juice or Gatorade & and drink it .

Does this product contain biotin(B7)?

There's no B7 in there. Just vitamin C, vitamin D3, calcium and magnesium.
