Works great at US East coast
This clock movement is aligned to the daily lunar cycle. As east coast US tides are synced to the lunar cycle, the clock can predict tides. If you do a bit of research, it’s best to set high tide on the day of a new moon. This minimizes weekly tide fluctuations.

Works great for tides on Atlantic east coast
I bought a beautiful ceramic tide clock but unfortunately it had a 12 hour clock work in it making it useless as a tide clock, but I bought this tide clock for $7 something and it is keeping great time. After 4 days, it's spot on with the tides. My son wanted to keep the tide clock on his boat, so I bought another one and bought this 'tide' clock at the same time, replacing it immediately. Unfortunately, this one is just a regular 12 clock movement. It is out of sync with the tide in just a couple days. Now do I try to buy this tide clock again hoping I get a correct one? I don't know.

Works as advertised. See NOTE in review
Works like a charm. Made the repair of my custom tide clock simple. The last two replacements (not this product) only lasted a year. Hope this one is more durable. Time will tell. NOTE: If you are replacing an existing unit be sure to keep all of your current parts. May need to mix and match to be successful.

Perfect size for Tideclock!
I have a loved tide clock but the mechanism stopped working. I found this teplacement with a perfect sized stem to replace it. Its working great.

Flimsy hand
The tide clock works. But the hand is a garbage. It was bent when it came. And now it is bent on the clock and I can’t get it to look straight or even. But this is like the only one Amazon sells ?

I've had the same beautiful tide clock for over 25 years but the mechanism finally gave up. This new mechanisim fits perfectly

L'aiguille n'entre pas dans l'arbre. Le trou de l'aiguille est de la même grosseur que l'arbre, impossible de poset l'aiguille. Décevant.
