I have an older car that was getting a little warmer over the summer, so I needed a tool that could find a Freon leak. I like to do my research first, so I checked Amazon reviews and other online sources. This tool kept popping up and was in a good price range. I decided to buy it and give it a try. When I received the tool, I was impressed by its quality and design. It was easy to use and had a clear display and sound. I followed the instructions and tested my car’s AC system. I was able to find the leak right away. It turned out to be the high Schrader valve. I fixed it and recharged my AC with Freon. Now my car is cool and comfortable again. I am very happy with this purchase. It saved me time and money that I would have spent on a professional service. It is an excellent and reliable tool for finding Freon leaks in older cars. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a similar problem.

Works well and detects leaks accurately. The LED light is a nice touch—just wish it came with batteries included.

The unit does what it is supposed to do. After reading the negative reviews, it seems people do not read the user manual or understand how this device is supposed to work. If you want something that works and will help you find the leak without spending hundreds of dollars, this is the answer. My only negative is with the manual, but since I am not an HVAC tech my negative may not be relevant. The sensitivity levels are 1-5. Using it today I determined 1 is the least sensitive and 5 is the most sensitive. But nothing tells you what each sensitivity level equates to. When detecting, the display will go from 0 (not detecting) to 9 (I assume a 9, but I only saw a 7 today). But nothing tells me what each rate means. If the sensitivity is .14oz/year and I find a leak at a level of 5, is that 5 x .14 or .7oz/year? It is important to know to determine if a repair/replacement decision needs to be made asap or can wait. I have not been able to find the leak as of yet, but this device did help me determine was the HVAC Co was more interested in selling me a new system than finding and repairing the leak when my current system is only 8 years old. I checked where they indicated a leak, and of course, no leak and it appears to be coming from an area with minimal access.

Not very good product, I was next to the leak but detector never picked it up ,I had to use foamy water to find leak

Cheap and kinda works.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this inexpensive leak detector, as I knew my AC leak was very small and may be hard to find. I set the sensitivity on highest 5 level. Checked the outside compressor unit first and found nothing leaking. I went to the upstairs blower unit and checked the evaporator coil and connections and found nothing again. Then I checked the gauge valve at the inside top, and sure enough it was leaking as the detector started beeping loud and more rapidly. Now I will have my AC guy add a little more freon with confidence that it will hold this time after finally finding the leak.

No accurate let me open the dashboards of the car to check evaporator of my car a/c because it’s showing there is leaks too much sound with # but when i open the evaporator clear no signs of leaks so need a day to reset the dashboard

Very accurate sniffer. I monitor my manifold connections after a compressor change. Crack a fitting and the alarm goes off.
