Compatibility
I’m sure the product is fine 90%+ of the time. It is packaged well. It seemed good quality. Unfortunately, though, it did not work with my Sony AV receiver (model STR DN1060). This model has notorious non-compatibility with IR blasters. And it does run on IR, just some odd frequency or something that I can’t figure out. Given that I tried to research compatibility before purchasing with no success, I’m leaving this here to maybe save someone else some time. If anyone has anything that works with Sony, please let me know! Beyond frustrated at Sony. I wish Sewell just kept a running list of non-compatible units.

Magic!!!
I am no tech expert but these little guys are magic! We had just put in a wall of built-ins and desperately wanted to hide our cable box behind a cabinet, but with it being infrared this would not work without these little repeaters! First off I just have to say that the Sewell customer service is off the charts. You actually get to speak to a real person right away, no annoying menu after menu trying to get help. They helped us so much when we hit a couple snags. Here are a couple things that I figured out that I hope will help others. First you can hide both of these little discs, they both come with tiny little eyes that can attach to your tv and cable box or whatever you are trying to use them for, and they are nearly invisible. Second, don’t get nervous when you plug them into the power outlet and the lights don’t come on, this is ok and they aren’t supposed to stay on, they kind of blink here and there, and only when you use your remote. Third, we have an Altice One cable box (not the mini, just a regular cable box) and it was impossible to find the eye to attach the emitter’s eye (Side note: we had to put the emitter disc on top of the cable box because we couldn’t fit the emitter disc pointing in front of cable box. The directions give you both options though and you can basically put it anywhere as long as the eyes attach). The phone trick did not work on this particular cable box. But after trying about a dozen different spots on the front of the box we finally got it to work by putting the eye right on where the digital clock numbers are. I put it basically right on top of the colon (:). Cable vision was no help with this so I hope this can save others from our frustration. After we found the eye everything came together and worked perfectly! No more do we need to keep the cabinet open to change channels… it’s a miracle!!! Hope these little guys work forever.

Plug and play, basically.
This product has a HUGE pro and one minor con.PRO: you plug it in and it works. Exactly like you think it would. Flawlessly. It. Just. Works.CON: it has the ability to plug in an RF receiver with a longer wire so you can get it in a more convenient place. The RF receiver on the puck itself works FAR better than the one on the extension. The puck itself would pick up my remote clear across my livingroom and kitchen. Once I placed the puck behind the TV and tried using an extension wire it cut the distance to about 3/4 across my livingroom and kitchen.Fantastic product other than that hiccup. If you have a long distance you will need to place the puck in plain sight where it will see clearly to your remote.

Does exactly what it says and works like a champ.
Very easy to setup and it works great. I was surprised at how small the units are. For some reason I thought they'd be bigger but they are really small, maybe 2- 2.5" inches across. So very easy to position out of the way.One question that gets asked a few times and I had the same one was where does the IR signal come out of on the little extenders for the receiver. They work a lot like an IR blaster setup and the signal comes out the front and the back so you really get a lot of flexibility in where to place them. For one I have it stuck to the front of the AVR and the other I have stuck to the shelf in front of the bluray player since the entire front of the bluray player folds down when the tray is out. Both work fine.I definitely recommend them if you need a simple wireless IR solution.

Effectively does the job; the blue LED signal acknowledgment is a nice plus
I was looking for a device to relay signals to my newly-hidden DVD player and cable box (both happen to be Samsung). There is a bewildering array of choices. I also have a 2013 Samsung TV, which already has an IR relay to control the cable box, but that relay only passes on a few specific signals from the TV's remote, and does not permit full control of the cable box (e.g. DVR functions). So, specifically what I needed was the ability to control two hidden devices, and also to not have to paste the transmitter directly over the receiving sensor, since for the cable box I actually needed two transmitters, one from the TV and one the IR relay. So this kit contains the sensor, which is about 1" long by 1/2" wide by 1/2" deep, and needs to be stuck on a surface so its sensor is facing into the room; a small box that all the lines plus the power cord plug into, and 4 sets of transmitting lines (two transmitting bulbs on each line). The adhesive strip is not great but that's obviously not a big deal. All the wires supplied are kind of stiff, and since the sensor is light, and the transmitters are tiny, it's really necessary to sick them all to something so that they remain properly oriented. I did not measure the cords, but they were more than long enough for my set-up. I had ordered an extension C&E CNE03722 Stereo Headphone Extension Cable 50 Feet 3.5mm which looks to be fine but I didn't need it.The main issue I was concerned about was whether the transmitters would function if they were simply placed in front of the receiving boxes, rather stuck onto the boxes, and the answer is they work fine. Since the kit is supplied with 4 sets of transmitting lines, each of which has two transmitters on it, what I did was use two of the lines, and just located both transmitters bulbs on each line about an inch in front of the receiving boxes. I'm sure I could just have used one line and positioned one transmitter in front of each box, but since I didn't need all the transmitters, I figured this would help insure a strong transmitted signal. I actually stuck the two transmitter bulbs for the cable box right on to the transmitter coming from the TV, and they all work fine.I noticed some other reviewers complained either of a time lag, or of a need to orient the receiver exactly right. I did not notice either problem. From about 12 feet away, if I aim the remote any where in the direction of the TV, the receiver picks up the signal just fine. The receiver flashes a blue LED whenever it detects a transmitted signal, which is very reassuring. So far, I have seen absolutely no problems controlling either the cable box or the DVD player, for all available functions. I can use the Cable remote to control both the TV and the cable box, and it all operates seamlessly (as when the box was located in the open below the TV).I would say the construction quality is adequate, not outstanding. Certainly "good enough" for the purpose.

The 12 volt power supply is not suitable for the UK
If you are a UK buyer, you should be aware that the 12 volt power supply that comes with the unit has a US plug fitting, and is for 110 volts, not 240 volts, so you can't even use a 'shaving adapter' to plug it in :-(Once plugged in with a working 12 volt supply it works fine

Honest Review - Does Not Work Well - Contacted Support
PROS:- Good packaging- Small form factor- Easy to setup- Responsive technical supportCONS:- Intermittently works- Slow response- Short range- ExpensiveREVIEW:Purchased this with hopes of resolving an issue controlling my audio video receiver (AVR) that was moved behind closed doors in a media cabinet about 10ft from my TV. Packaging was great and setup was straight forward, however performance was terrible. I was expecting much more considering the high price paid.Although the BlastIR receiver was in line of site, the signal from my AVR remote would only register intermittently. When moving back about 20ft from the BlastIR receiver the system would only register about 20% of the button presses. At all distances the AVR remote had to be pointed perfectly at the BlasIR receiver to get it to register the button presses, and when it did register there was a noticeable delay (about 0.75 seconds). Very annoying.I decided to call technical support (the number is conveniently listed on the last page of the manual), and they were very quick to respond. I ended up trying different channels on the BlastIR receiver and transmitter as well as using the optional infrared extension cables that were part of the kit. Nothing I tried resolved the issue. I even tried controlling a DVD player hidden in the media cabinet (as requested by support) and experienced the same issues. For now I will be returning this product and trying something else.

A great product with everything included
BlastIR Wireless Pro works extremely well. Response time is fantastic and it was a breeze to setup in my media cabinet.Manual is very helpful but anyone needing an IR repeater in the first place is probably savvy enough to install these with almost no help, they are dead simple. This kit also includes everything you need, I really don't think Sewell does enough justice to their product on this page.It includes:2 x USB power cables with 3.5mm (to unit) to USB (to power source), fairly long but of course, USB can be easily extended if you need. They also include two USB wall-chargers to power the devices. I love that these are separate and not attached to the cables. I have USB ports on my power strip, so I didn't need to use the chargers and fill up more outlets. The kit also includes an extension for the receiver (blue) so you could hide the receiver if the small (and non-intrusive, dim greenish-coloured) light on the receiver bothers you. You could also potentially pass the extender through small holes, around corners, or maybe through walls so you can control devices through even the most challenging of setups. There is also a long, dual-headed extender for the emitter. The cable comes with the heads together and you can peel them apart for only as much cable mess as you need. Allows for more control over more devices, but of course brings more wires to the mix. Then there are the adhesives. Reusable or permanent 3M adhesives for the units. There are two magnetic feet with a strong magnet if you need to stick to metal surfaces. The included extender cables also have adhesives on all the heads. Sewell really did include it all and I was happy I didn't have to think about how I was going to stick bits to things. An excellent product and a premium package. Sewell definitely gained a fan.

Exactly what we needed!
I couldn’t believe the ease of setting this up!!! I had visions of complications, frustration, and disappointment with my lack of ‘techi-ness’.We have a TV (with no receiver) on our back deck. It was a real hassle having to get up and point the remote at a door or window to reach the ‘inside’ receiver, in order to change the station on the outside TV.I simply plugged in the orange unit beside the inside receiver, then plugged the blue unit in near the outside TV, and WOW!!!!…. That was all that I needed to do! Now we can comfortably sit in our outside chairs and change the channels with complete ease. Very happy!!
