How do i clean this item? I have some leave in conditioner caked on after just a few weeks of use. Please advise, thanks!

A soft damp cloth and a good cleaning solution are all that you need to clean your brush effectively.

After you clean your brush, give it enough time to dry completely before you attempt to use it on your beard / hair  hair again. You should also allow it to heat up for an extra couple of minutes before you use it to straighten your beard / hair so that the heat can burn away any remaining residue from the cleaning products that you used to clean it. Allowing your brush to heat up and burn away chemical residue will prevent the bad stuff from getting into your hair; when you use your hair straightening brush you certainly don’t want any cleaning solution to get in contact with your hair, as this will obviously cause damage to it. How do you suggest cleaning oil buildup on the straightener? My husband loves it, but it smells so bad once it starts heating up. Thank you!

One way that is painstakingly slow, is to use a Q-Tip.  On the other hand, I simply use a stiff bristle brush (like a nail brush of vegetable brush) to vigorously go back and forth over the the brush combs, until all of the residue has been removed.  It helps to turn the brush on and allow it to warm up a bit, to soften any hard, caked on build up.  WARNING: do not heat to high.  Simply allow the brush to warm up a little.  Another recommendation might be to have your husband wash the week-old clam chowder out of his beard occasionally.

Is it ok to use this while there is oil (besides argon oil) in my beard?

The brush works best on a clean, healthy, well-conditioned beard, we do not recommend using other oils besides argon prior to use.

Funny you should ask. I thought I was buying something just for me and my beard, but since my wife discovered that it works wonders on her hair, I have to share it with with her! I might have to buy another one, just so that I can have one all to myself, we'll see.
