TRENDnet N300 11N/G/B/3/3U 2.4Ghz High Power Easy-N-Range Extender

We have 5 Wi-Fi gizmos in our bi-level home with a 90 to 100% signal on all upper levels and out on the deck; however, when I hooked up iTV in the lower level, our maximum signal dropped to 35 - 60% and sometimes it vanished altogether. Research revealed that Wi-Fi doesn't work well when passing through multiple walls and past other electronics, like our furnace and a refrigerator. We already had good success with a Trendnet router and that made this decision easier. Adding this extender/enhancer increased the lower level signal to an average 90% level that remains steady. It was very easy to set up even though the instructions might be a little too simplified.

Awesome at first. Works wonderfully, after rebooting BUT has to be rebooted about every 24 hrs. Configured with the router, etc but nothing can change the reboot that has to be done often. Disappointing........ Will buy something else and not consider this brand again.

I had no choice but to put my router in the front of our apartment so our bedroom which is at the end of a long hallway had no coverage. I took me 2 minutes to set this up and it it works great. A breeze to setup and now i have full bars all over the apartment. Update 1/7/2017: I thought I'd give an update. My initial impression was really good, unfortuntely this item has given me so many issues since then. Constant disconnects were too much of headache that I decided to get another brand.

It was a little tricky to get set up. it wasn't as easy as pushing two buttons. I'm still not sure what I did to get it to work, but it is working and has worked consistently since I got it to work. It increased my WiFi by a good bit also.

Not sure if any residual problems I am still having with my router is because of the router itself or the TRENDnet extender is not strong enough? It was slightly more complicated to set up than I originally expected, but thankfully my tech friend was able to lend a hand and help me get it done to work with the router, which did not have the "switch" that was in the preliminary instructions. As soon as we were done installing and setting it up, though, I immediately saw a full-bar, strong signal on my wi-fi network. Unfortunately, shortly after that, within a day or two, I lost my wi-fi signal again, and had to unplug and replug this unit in order to get it back on track...a reboot of sorts. The plug was very warm to the touch when I went to unplug it, so again, not sure what may be causing some of the remaining issues. My router is a few years old...I am considering just getting a new router and possibly returning this extender. It works strongly but it seems to be somewhat inconsistent.

I bought one of these to get better WiFi coverage out on the deck of our home. It works great. Gives me 5 bars on the signal strength meter and it's plugged in one floor and several walls away from the main router. I bought one as a gift for a friend who has a room and office over a garage that is a long way from their router. Set it up in about 10 minutes, moved it to the far end of their house, it found the WiFi signal and gives them 3-4 bars on the signal meter in the room over the garage. Great product.

Liked it for the easy setup and its intended purpose, extend wifi coverage to the area of my home that loses a signal. The 737-HRE failed to represent itself as a good solution. After about two days I would have to unplug it and plug back in. It constantly lost connectivity to the home wifi router.

If you're using this to cover a wifi deadspot, you might want to try using a powerline networking wifi extender or something else. This wifi repeater was very spotty for me. On some days, I'd have great coverage in the wifi deadspot, but on other days, I'd get a stronger signal from my router--flaky, slow, and horrible. I don't know if the device is to blame. After all, if you have a dead spot, it's probably environmental or due to a weak antenna on your router. This device cannot overcome those issues; it does have to communicate with your router after all. It's probably better than a laptop or tablet at doing that, but I've found that a weak signal is a weak signal. I eventually tried using one of the HomePlug powerline wifi extenders and that worked surprisingly well, and certainly better than this extender.
