Once you set it to the required pressure, I found it best to put the unit down and use both hands to connect the valve to the tyre so that you can clamp the valve quickly to minimise loss of air. Once connected it will show you how much pressure you have and then simply push the trigger at the lower part once and you can then let go, and it will inflate and stop by itself at your setting.
