Works well, and better than others, treat it carefully
2023: Seems to work just fine. I also bought an off-brand import version of this that is just a "Y" of the wires. The block piece on this one is just a little cumbersome and may get in the way for use while walking, hiking, biking, etc. but it should not be too troublesome. I bought this for play in the car, so that's less of a concern for me. I already had a ground loop noise isolator for the car, and I have not tried this item without it, so I cannot speak to any potential interference when used without one. The sound quality appears to be good. Many of these advertise a bit rate and frequency. I do not believe there is anything exceptional to this item in that regard. Craftmanship can be a factor there too though. I have not really tested the limits in terms of sound quality (loud play, complicated songs with lots of bass and/or treble), but so far it plays well. ***Update 2026: I know this one has some durability concerns, but this is still the best option out there. Mine lasted just short of 3 years with regular use in the car, and me paying little mind to its care. It started cutting out with even the slightest movement at that point. Still, this is the best sound option that I have found. Other brands require a higher volume setting to get the same sound, and some randomly cut out from the get-go. Also, this is the only item that has allowed me to stay plugged into my car speakers and run calls with my phone's mic (Teams, regular phone), while other brands do not (they will give care speaker sound, but my mic will not operate). So durability concerns aside, I got 3 years out the first unit, it has the best sound that I have found, and it works with my phone's mic while plugged in. If I have to keep buying every 3 years, that is not great, but far from terrible considering the amount of use and the functionality.

Poor Quality
Third and last one I will buy. First lasted about 1.5 years. Second one lasted about 11 months. The most recent lasted 2 days!! All failed due to not passing the charge feed through to the IPad. Not so bad but when that happens it kills the audio feed to the jack and stops the podcast. Worthless waste of money!

I bought 2
I trust the Belkin brand. I bought 2 of them and straight outta the box one of them wasn't working properly. Plug in the 3.5 and it works. Plug in the power and it stops charging my phone and cuts off the music! Please help me to rectify this issue. I'll be checking out the other one tomorrow. I am really under the weather and want to connect my head to some music and fall asleep! Sincerely, John Houser

5/5; it is my go-to as a necessity
Functionality: 5/5 Functions as intended with no issues since I've purchased it. Durability: 3/5 Has a plastic shell, so I would not advise being rough with the product in terms of tossing it around, yanking it off from the phone, etc. Treat it with care and it'll last long. Connection speed: 5/5 No indication of lag when connected to my Apple earphones and Anker charging cable. Charging ability: 5:5 No indication of slow charging. Charging speed seems to be about the same without this connector and just having my phone plugged directly to the charging cable. Heat level: 5/5 At most it gets warm Compatibility: 5/5 No issues connecting to the Apple 3.5mm earphones and Anker USB-C to USB-A charging cable Extra info: I previously used this version of the product for my iPhone 11 pro that had the lightning cable, and also had no issues with it.

It does what you need it to.
After having to "upgrade" to a phone without a headphone jack, I needed a good DAC and charger adapter. Cheaper ones are, well, cheap. This one solved most of my issues with noise floor. You'll get all of the same things you would with a standard built-in headphone jack. Like with anything that has a wire, though, it will go out. For me, it made it about 3 months before it started showing some issues where it would disconnect/reconnect/stop media very suddenly. Very annoying having to try and resume, only to move the cable slightly and have it disconnect. As I said, cables just wear out. You'll probably fair better than me on this one, but for the price? I wish it had lasted a bit longer.

Buy once, cry once
It might seem expensive, but if you have an old car but a new phone, then this is the solution you need because you can charge your phone and output to your AUX all via your USB-C (there is a lightening version available too). I tried cheaper variants before this which didn't last or wouldn't charge properly so eventually I paid up for the Belkin and it's been working like a charm. I took off one start because, as good as it is, it feels like a lot of money for a tiny dongle. Lastly, my set-up is: Cigarette charge with usb-c port --> USB C cable to the Belkin dongle, 3.5mm stereo cable from Belkin dongle to AUX on stereo, USB C connector on dongle to Iphone
