I used my new cape for the first time today when I decided to dye my medium-length hair. The snap buttons are a great feature which allowed me to adjust it snugly around my neck to avoid dye stains. (I previously wore an old t-shirt for dye jobs, which resulted in a lot of dye down the back of my neck and the shirt.) This cape is made from thick, quality material which performed excellently. Even better, it's machine washable so cleanup is a breeze. I had considered cheaper capes that were available, but am glad I spent the extra money on this one. It's worth every dollar I paid for it! Love this!!! This hairdresser cape is perfect and as I leave this review is still at a reasonable price point of $8.99. The size is very generous and covers the chair and person wearing the cape very loosely and comfortably- generous size. The sturdy neck buttons keep it perfectly in place - there are several neck buttons to find your ideal comfort. The material is sturdy yet flexible and very durable. It’s not overwhelmingly hot to wear. It has done a great job protecting my teen who has me color her hair/roots every few weeks. We’ve used this cape a lot and it cleans up easily in the washer or spot clean. Really perfect at $8.99 no need to pay a huge price for this practically professional grade cape!!

I’m a professional hairstylist and I have used many brands of capes. I typically pay over $30. Those $30 capes wear out quickly and are not very water wicking. I purchased these and didn’t have very high hopes. I have re-purchased these twice now! These are AMAZING quality. I just throw them in the washer and even dry them. I’ve had no issues. My clients have loved how they are bigger capes and cover their clothes well. Highly recommend!

UPDATE 11/30/2023: Keeping the 4 stars but may consider downgrading to 3 after I order another. This was my go-to cape and has been washed and folded a bunch of times, and unfortunately, the layer underneath has started to peel as other people have mentioned. Cape was never placed in the dryer. Fortunately it was just a tiny spot and no clothes were ruined, but it's smack dab in the middle of the cape, so this one is no longer any good for chemical or water protection. Will order another to give it a shot. This thing is thick and heavy, just like capes used to be. I could see this getting hot under some scenarios but one thing is certain: nothing is getting through this cape! Only reason I docked a star is because it seems very static with hair and dust sticking it the cape which I found odd and a bit annoying. Still love the cape and will order more though.
