You have to have the right tools; but with the right tools, anyone can do this! I was getting static on my handset cord. I cut off one end at a time, stripped it back stuck the new plug on in the same orientation, and crimped it with my old, good, _metal_ ethernet crimping tool. No big deal for me, as among other things (laughing), I have some experience wiring up computer systems for clients, a motel with horrid WiFi, etc. (Laughing, they were as cheap as me!) But it is easy, anyone can do this if they don't let go of the cable before putting the plug on so as not to get the new plug on upside down. That's the key, just don't let go of the cord so as not to let it turn over, and put the new plug on in the same orientation. The wires are usually color coded, but that can be hard to see, so just don't let go of the cable. And no more static!

Was exactly what I needed to re wire my sons basketball arcade hoops game. He broke the original cable connector and these were a perfect match.
